Nice list of bloke soul, a right mix of beat ballads, mid and up temp gems, not a dud among them. All in great condition. Happy to provide additional images or sound files.
Any questions or to reserve please PM me.
Little Flint – Pain – Beast 1000 M- £400
(Featuring Wayne Perry on lead no less! not for the feint hearted this Hammond driven dancer out of Cincinnati, Ohio)
Bunny Sigler – For crying out loud – Decca 31880 Promo M- £200
(Solemn yet intoxicating beat and melancholy lyrics, superb, lovely of the pink promo)
Stanley Mitchell – Get it baby / Quit twistin’ my arm – Dynamo 111 M- £2000
(Rarer red stock copy, outstanding 45 to have in the hand, let alone on the decks, where this twofer will satisfy the whole crowd with the variety of Stan’s vocals, who would have known given the pounding ‘Get it’ got. Number stamped on top side, small x on flip)
Billy Watkins – Ice-man – Era 3183 Promo Ex £125
(Catchy vocals on this simple dancer, punctuated by cute girly backing. Small dot sticker and no6 on top label)
Otis Brown – Find somebody new – Lujuna 10655 Ex+ £125
(Chicago mid-tempo, how classy is this, guess the ‘Soulettes’ version was spawned from Otis’s work)
John Wesley – Love is such a funny thing – Melic 4195 Ex+ £1500
(An original that hardly ever comes to market, absolute stormer off the streets of Tinseltown, brilliant tune, stunning label)
Lonnie Lester – You can’t go – Nu-Tone 210 M- £350
(Another that’s always in vogue, growing steadily in demand and reputation)
Al Jarreau – Shake up – Raynard 10024 M- £700
(Love this, bags of oomph, rare number has potential to fly when the right DJ gets behind it)
Jimmy & Vella Cameron – Loving you is such a groove – Reprise 0483 M- £800
(I know, I know, only ½ is Bloke, but it’s the best place to put it. Frantic but organised Soul banger that ticks all the boxes. Top condition and on the rarer stock. Awesome)
Stan Deveraux & Trendsetters – Sad tomorrows – Sujay 102 Ex £300
(Lovely tune, smooth vocals with punchy bursts, rare semi-known, appears to be a one-off label, Stan was from Phoenix, Arizona so assume it originates from there. Small xol)
Ray Pollard – It’s a sad thing – United Artists 50012 Ex+ £125
(Fabulous beat ballad, lovely condition, and a juicy stock copy)
Wade Flemons – That other place – Vee-Jay 614 M- £175
(Never forget tuning into this on the Charly tapes, awesome beat ballad, fabulous on stock copy, prime condition)
