Hal Hardy - Love Man/House Of Broken Hearts (Hollywood) Mint- £100
Double sided dynamite! ‘House’ will bring back fond memories of Stafford for many, but has had little exposure since and consequently has plenty of legs left in it. But it is the flip side that’s caused a stir in more recent times, a fabulous R&B dancer that is as instant as any I’ve heard (great spoken intro too). One that doesn’t come to market often and this is a superb example.
Herb Johnson And The Impacts - Where Are You/I’m So Glad (Brunswick Gold Reissue) Mint- £100
With Toxsan originals never showing up (last Discogs was nearly four years ago and sold at £500, so who know hat it would go for now), and Brunswick second press copies at least half that price, this official re-issue has seen a steady rise in price. Big demand for the lowrider side and rightly so, plus you get a northern classic on the flip!
Cyntriks - Something To Go On/Love To A Stranger (Associated Artists) Mint- £75
Groovy Garage Soul twofer that’s obscure and I suspect equally rare. The mid tempo ‘Something’ will appeal to dancers and could easily crossover to the northern scene whilst ‘Love’ is a Shades of Sorrow style lowrider that seems to have, thus far, escaped attention. Can’t decide which I prefer TBH, both have been on repeat since it arrived.
