Another eclectic mix of the rare, the unusual, the Northern, the funky and the crossover.

(1) Charles (Mr C C) Carlson – “She’s Not To Blame” (Bold) EX/M- £300    *****SOLD*****

  • Rare and not well-known mid-tempo gritty pounding Northern
  • Never understood why this hasn’t been huge

(2) Charles Simmons – “Save The World” / “You’ve Got It All” (Hitsound) EX (no pic sleeve) £250

  • Classic funky dancer on the top, lovely crossover on the flip
  • Two fab sides

(3) The Diabolics – “Niggers Will Be Niggers Every Day” (Togetherness) M- £60

  • Superb political funk

(4) Evelyn Smith – “You Don’t Mean A Thing To Me” (Magic Touch) VG £80

  • Semi-known, rare traditional storming Northern female scorcher
  • Bags and bags of Northern dancefloor potential in this
  • Nice slowie on the flip

(5) The Fabulettes – “Stickin Kind Of Man” (Access) VG+ £300

  • Rare and not widely known funk-edged Northern
  • Brilliant dancer – one with huge potential to cross over to 'main rooms'
  • Backed with a brilliant funky crossover flip which could equally do the business in the right venue and in the right hands
  • Two superb sides

(6) Fair Change – “Evil World” (Paduka) EX £80

  • Superb political funk

(7) Otis Lee – “I Wanna Be Loved” (Quaint) VG £80

  • His other one!! Rarer than Hard Road To Hoe as well!
  • Superb, moody, mid tempo (needs pitching up) R&B Northern with huge potential
  • Nice mid tempo funk-edged flip as well (not on YouTube)

(8) Second Movement – “People Get Down” VG/VG+ £80    *****SOLD*****

  • Some surface marks which take the grading down, but this plays with no issues at all
  • Superb deep funk
