Little introduction needed for this stunning double sided Groovesville production. Credits include Mike Terry and Don Davis on two back to back stone cold Detroit classics. Nice copy drill hole.
Brooks Odell - The Lively Ones/Standing Tall Vg+\Ex £75
Another fabulous double sider albeit somewhat lesser known than the above and indeed Brooks’ other 45s despite being IMHO his best (and rarest) by far. Both sides are deserving of much more attention than they’ve ever had but ‘Lively Ones’ for me really is waiting to have its day! Tough 45 for the label, lovely copy shades off Ex-Mint-.
Shep Grant - You Found My Lonely Heart A Home (Musicor) Vg+ £60
Killer Popcorn style, big voice, big city beat ballad that remains lesser known although I’m sure it had Stafford plays (and if it didn’t it should have). Some light hairlines but overall a good Vg+. Should be double this price in reality!
Delicates - Stop Shovin’ Me Around (Challenge) Mint- £50
Girl group northern to a tee and one you rarely see and even more rarely hear. Oldies DJs with imagination take note this is well worth adding to a set IMHO. Lovely copy despite some minor label wear (see pic).
Scotty Williams - I’ve Got To Find Her (And Tell Her) (Jubilee WD) Vg+ £50
Much like the above one that really should be better known and would make a refreshing change to some of the same old same old oldies heard week in week out. Killer dancer from the artist best known for the wonderful ‘Fear’ and one with just enough edge to appeal to the younger crowds as well as the die hards.
