Up for grabs, nearly half a century of Motown stable doubles, white label promos. Take some time out to remind yourself 0f the sheer brilliance of Hitsville USA, captured in this juicy list of tracks. Universally the most aired Soul output for most of the 60’s.

(Berry and Smokey composition, backed by the Rayver Voices, thought they were Rayber? 23.12 date on label in red chinograph pencil)

(Disc Jockey Advance Sample. Much like “Do you love me”, spoken intro launches into a full-on belter. 3 small kisses on top label, 1 on flip. Beautiful copy)

4) Martha & Vandellas – In my lonely room – Gordy 7031 Ex £30

(Audition Copy. The girls are in the habit by this stage, with yet another ridiculously engrossing dancer. 2 felt tip lines on top label, and tiny edge wave that DNAP. The vinyl however looks great and a superb Ex+ player)

(Audition copy. The Motown map design has become increasingly and surprisingly hard to find. This is being released back into the wild due to finally finding an upgrade. Red Xol, sticker damage to label, w-4 penned on each side. Few light marks, plays nice and clean)

(Audition copy. Anthem from the favoured Motown girl group. Gorgeous map design, single sided, ZTSC stamped. Some small writing on label)

(Promotional copy. Apex double header on the much rarer west coast Monarch pressing. Another example of buying without looking what I already had! I don’t use NM, but its pristine, bar the Xol)

19) Tammi Terrell – I can’t believe you love me – Motown 1073 M- £40

(Promotional copy. Taken too young, superb talent so no surprise Marvin was the other half of duets. Beautiful on the rarer west coast Monarch pressing, and yes, yet again, another example of buying without looking what I already had! Pristine bar the red line under the title, which is exactly the same on my keep copy, can’t split them apart!)

(Promotional copy. Wonderful take on the Miracles with the Temps providing the ultimate backing experience. So cool on Red vinyl. Light edge wave DNAP)
