9 spare copies of Motown stable demos and one ROGUE but RARE stock copy up for grabs….
Happy to send more images and sound files, PM to ask any questions or to reserve.
I'll give them a scrub up before sending, a few been filed for a while and collected dust.
Martha & Vandellas – Jimmy Mack / Same – Gordy 7058 WD Ex+ £25
(East coast vinyl copy, of this fantastic made for the growing Soul scene dancer)
Martha & Vandellas – Jimmy Mack / Same – Gordy 7058 WD Ex £50
(The rarer one, west coast Monarch pressing. Labels do show signs of light wear and small sticker residue, but still a very nice piece)
Supremes – My world is empty without you babe – Motown 1089 WD Ex £15
(Original or cover of Barbara McNair’s ‘Everything is good about you’ on the flip. Couple of light marks, hence price)
Tammi Terrell – What a good man he is – Motown 1115 M- £200
(Most can only boast owning this on Tammi’s ‘Irresistible LP’, here’s a genuinely under produced and therefore rare issue form Motown it is in the flesh. dh)
Jimmy Ruffin – How can I say I am sorry – Soul 35016 WD M- £20
(The male alternative to Babs McNair, what a mellow soulful vocal this guy has)
Velvelettes – These things will keep me loving you / Same – Soul 35025 WD M- £125
(Spine-tingling floor filler has gotta be Motown’s biggest slab of gorgeousness, and here it is in its rarest format, the west coast Monarch pressing in superb condition)
Jimmy Ruffin – Gonna give her all the love I’ve got – Soul 35032 WD M- £20
(Ditto my previous comment, another smooth shuffler)
Brenda Holloway – How many time did you mean it – Tamla 54121 WD £50
(Another gorgeous hard to find west coast Monarch pressing. Whilst the top side ‘You can cry on my shoulder’ is nice, it’s a tad poppy to my ears, whereas the side in question is completely under the radar beat ballad, with Brenda bossing that classic big band undertone with rich classy vocals, this has everything needed to power up the hairs on your neck. No26 written on flip label, over small sticker residue)
Marvelettes – Too many fish in the sea – Tamla 54105 WD Ex £25
(Like Jimmy Mack, it would have filled dance floors back in the days, remained a firm favourite of the masses ever since. Xol)
Smokey Robinson & Miracles – I second that emotion – Tamla 54159 WD M- £15
(Classic Motown still doing the rounds when I was at school. Rockway pressing)
PayPal by friends please or add 4%, or bank transfer.
