...thought I'd stick this here instead of hijacking another post, but theres so much written on here about music / records / places / memories and the fact that time marches on...that I thought it might be of use...

@Twoshoes post about collecting made think of it...any anyone who has experience of dementia will know how debilitating it can be...

the point is make your playlist now, as much as people know you, they can't select the tracks that get to you...

Amazing what's out there, I was surprised to see they are celebrating their tenth anniversary, never heard or seen anything about them. As Norman says a great link. I've seen several news items about the link between music and reviving memories in people with dementia.

Makes my efforts in writing down my musical memories more significant now, at this point I haven't shown or told my family I've been doing it maybe I now should.

To anyone inspired to do something similar I've been tempted to write about a record from memory but found it best only do it whilst playing the actual record ,if you have it of course. I say this because I've played tunes that I thought would mean something and they evoked no particular memory, some warrant only a couple of lines, Jack Hammer for various reasons took up two pages.
