Vicki Starr – Cut Me Loose/I Need Your Love (Lynn’s Records) Mint- £400

Magnificent copy of this Vicki Williams/Styles outing under yet another moniker. A very rarely seen semi-known double sider and a very reluctant sale from my own collection. Top side is killer a semi-known slab of funk infused R&B  with HUGE northern potential. Flip it for an unknown haunting slab deep soul that will appeal to the lowrider collectors.

This 45 has appeared just a handful of times on eBay and Discogs combined, Manship auctioned a copy some 14 years ago and even then it went for over £300. Unlikely you’ll find another copy at set sale anytime soon. No YouTube clips until now…

Hal ‘Trotter’ – Think About It (Grand Land) Mint- £75

Last but by no means least comes this killer funk edged R&B dancer that has sailed under the radar for far too long. A hard 45 and perhaps that’s why it’s never had the exposure it deserves, like all of the above it sounds so right for now. It’s singular and barely viewed YouTube entry proving it’s obscurity. If you want a relatively exclusive to liven up your set then look no further.
