Reluctant sale here. Killer raw, funk edged R&B influenced group 45 that’s as rare as hen’s teeth. Barely known and with hardly any exposure, thanks to it’s ridiculous rarity, only available on issue this side and it really never turns up. Bags of potential in right hands with appeal across Northern, R&B and Popcorn scenes. Don’t sleep.
Gene Yarbrough - The Meeting Place part 1 & 2 (Jerma) Mint- £100
I am inundated with enquiries every time I list this, and what copies there were have dried up completely. It’s last Discogs sale was £100 and have seen at £150 recently, testimony to how demand has grown and grown in the few months since I listed the first copy where it was virtually unknown. The A Side has a couple of YouTube entries, but demand is all about the flip ‘part 2’ which has only recently been added courtesy of @BarrieWaddington aka @A45Heaven (who’s no bad judge of a 45 given he was responsible for discovering many of Stafford’s finest plays and plenty more before and after). A killer 45 IMHO and one that has yet to reach its peak price IMHO.
Thee Nite Dreamers - Later For You (Alwin) Vg+ £100
Boom! Super tough garage soul banger with bags of potential (dropped this at the last LockUp and it got a great reaction). Think it’s probably had a few plays in the past without ever really taking off but feels bang on for now. Seen this sell at £250 plus and it’s no surprise super hard to find especially as a WD!
