Haunting lowrider ballad that if it were not for a major label release would be very rare indeed AND very expensive. Been rising steadily last couple of years with top sale of £75 on Cogs. Don’t ignore the overlooked upbeat northern flip side either (the rarer version of this currently experiencing a mini-revival too I believe so will doubtless see a further increase in demand and price for this). Lovely copy, and the vinyl press too as opposed to the more common styrene one.
Charades - You’re With Me All The Way (Mercury) Mint- £45
Simply brilliant sweet group harmony 45 that’s been somewhat overlooked and as a consequence is far cheaper than it should be. Gorgeous condition and lovely WD to boot!
Majestic - How Long Will I Love You/Send My Baby Back To Me (Equator) Mint- £25
I’m amazed this isn’t better known and more expensive. A 45 that was pretty easy to come by in the UK during the ‘80s (possibly due in part to people thinking the flip it might be The Martells when covered up) and I’ve seen claims this side was a Stafford play in its own right but I don’t recall hearing it although it was a tape swappers record around the time; however, the other side is IMHO an incredibly under rated, under the radar and under values group harmony ballad. Just one 40 second YouTube clip and one that’s been ignored for far too long. Still cheap but if demand takes hold it won’t stay that way.
