Matt Brown – Thank you baby / Sweet thing Jar-Val Ex+ £750
Macon, Georgia release on Hamp Swains fabulous label full of juicy releases. This double sider is a fine example of getting bang for your buck. ‘Thank you baby’ just edges it for me, but both crossover tracks, massively influenced by Tee Fletcher, are dance, living room and kitchen floor fillers. Clean vinyl on both sides, bar a grouping of tiny light marks, like a graze, and slight edge lift, neither of which affect play in any way. Labels are clean and crisp.
R.D.M. Band – Give up – Virtue 2506 WD Ex+ £200
Featuring Milton Campbell assumedly on lead, the band hailed form Maple Shade, New Jersey. It appears they only recorded two 45s in 69. ‘Give up’ appears to be the more elusive release, and will no doubt appeal to the crossover crowd, with its smooth soulful and sometimes sweet delivery. Lovely clean copy.

Our friends at Royal Mail are trying to fill their black hole, so prices are up ‘yet’ again. I can’t even offer 24 Hour Tracked and Signed on the R.D.M. 45 because they’ve lowered the level of cover form £150 t0 £75, unless you want to take the risk…. Jeez!
Couple of lovely crossover 45s up for grabs….
