Like the last three better than the first......then again Im not a big lover of the old organ unless jess yates is playing arf arf.

I still have my stompin' 'soul aint nothin but the blues' mate.......a great artist that I have listened to intently to be it a few years ago now.

The Really Interesting Thing About That LP Is That The Whole Thing Came About Beacuse Aretha Left Columbia And Immediately Scored Big-Time On Atlantic. The Brass At Columbia Were Looking To Come Up With A Replacement And An Answer As To Why They Didn't Produce Such Brilliant Tracks By The Queen Of Soul. Jimmy & Buddy Talked Their Way Into A Meeting With John Hammond And Left With A Production Deal, Liscris Production (A Combination Of The First Few Letters From Each Of Their First Born Childrens Names), And A Recording Contract For Pat, Who Was Buddy's Gurlfriend At The Time. During The Production Of The Album Buddy Got So "Mad" At Bob Johnston, Johnston Somehow Kept trying To Place Himself In The Role As Producer, That He Was Almost Banned From Columbia Studios. This Was Also Bert DeCoteaux's First Major Studio Session That Yielded The Superb Single "City Of Stone" & "Wildfire" Both Scott-Radcliffe Songs. Additionally There Are Some Mighty Fine Charts By Arranger Ray Bryant On This LP Too.

Mr. Decoteaux Would Also Be In Change Of The Charts For Song One On Side 'A' "Does She Ever Remind You Of Me" When Jackie Verdell Cut It On Decca. (But I Guess This Is Info For The Bert DeCoteaux Thread, Yes?)
