Hi Tony , the story of the Nancy Butts 45 , was that a non northern soul friend of mine was married to the daughter of record producer Eugene Davis , and on one of his holidays to detroit in the mid eightys , he brought back a box of 70-80 copys of i want hold your hand , and 3 copys of joseph webster on crow , and a couple of other bits , these ended up in Carmel records , southend on sea , and i think Rod Dearlove brought what was left . they were not pressed for the uk market , and now seen quite thin on the ground
sadly Eugene davis passed away earlier this year , hope this is of help .

Further on from the 'Nancy Butts on flaming Arrow' thread in All about the soul, & frank's confirmation of how they appeared above, 2 copies of the Exquisites - Just couldn't make it (CROW) have come to light from the same source. I understand one is up for sale via a well known Essex dealer, so possibly gone already. The source still has the other & as a member of the family the funds are going to the family in Detroit (I think).
I just happened to be in that little goldmine, Carmel Records today & the source confirmed the story, having recently returned from the unfortunate job of sorting the effects of a deceased relative.
Anyway, I dont know if anybody is interested in the 45. Unfortunately, wayyyy out of my price range, in JM guide at £1500 (& listening to it on the 'rarest of the rare' page is the only way I am aware of it). Just thought I would put info up here should anybody be interested. Send me a PM & I will pass on the information. I presume it is a good copy, however, that can obviously be confirmed with any interest.
BTW no more Joseph Webster or Nancy Butts were found, or likely to appear in any number in future.
