Read a thread the other day made me smile, talk of chris brick and harry cook.
these two fellas were real good pals of mine around 1975 till 1983.
originally from port talbot....first met harry in the good old days of the SHADES club in Northampton.Harry's dad ran the BLACK LION pub in Northampton a good old den of iniquity, all day drinking out the back on a saturday afternoon. l used to go there with a good pal of mine called MICK GAVIN (R.I.P).
l remember one friday night l'd gone to bed at about eleven when l heard these shouts from outside (c'mon terry get yourself out here).when l looked out the window there was Chris and Harry in their motor so l quickly got dressed and off we went to the allnighter, remember being tired (not for long though)ha ha.what a great night we had that night.
On another occasion we were at the Casino down near the record bar when all hell broke loose and we were in a huge punch up with some northern folk, fists and feet flying all over the place, luckily Harry was well ard and we soon saw them off.
They then moved to London and set up a manufacturing bussiness in their clothes shop in Beak St just behind Carnaby St .
After some time they moved to NEWBURY and opened a shop called LUBBA.L remember another night at Yate when the week before a couple of lads had been beaten up by some local s out of the stars and stripes. We all piled in chris's LUBBA van with hurly bats and all sorts of other things, when we got there we met up with TAFFY,GHOSTY,BIG SAM and the brummie boys and there was one hell of a pitched battle with the locals....bats flying cars getting smashed up what a hoot......no more trouble from those boys ever again
last time l saw the boys was at southwark.....anyone else got some good tales of these two very likeable roughs, l for one a glad l knew em. Chris is in L.A l know. would love to hear from him
