Maybe this doesn´t qualify as soul, since the tune was written and produced by Bruce Springsteen.

However, I think it´s a pretty fine tune, great vocals from Mr. Bonds, and it was very popular when it was released back in 1981. As you may know it´s from an LP entitled Dedication. Quite far removed from "Quarter To Three" and "New Orleans" I guess.

There´s another very nice tune that he recorded a year later; i.e. in 1982, if memory serves me right it´s called "Club Soul City" and it´s featured on the On The Line album, also on EMI America.
