I'm not sure if there have been any topics on this fine chronicle before, but over at the "B" Side Red Kelly is mapping Lattimore Brown's career. I had never heard of Lattimore before Red started doing these series, but it is an incredible story that takes you through the history of Soul music in a rare fashion. Unlike the (auto)biographies of the bigger Soul stars or books on the great labels, this tale shows some of the finer texture of Soul music in the US. Not to be missed. I hope the good people over at Ace/Kent are paying attention. I would love them to do a compilation on Lattimore, with liner notes by Red of course
