Not sure one book does all that Lady Sings The Blues probably most famous and think that may talk about her recoding history, long time since I read it.

The best one for me is With Billie by Julia Blackburn, it tells her story through a series of interviews with people that knew her, most crtitics have said its the most rounded story about the real BH. I thought it was a fantastic read, really moving story of a hugely talented but troubled woman,
