Does anyone know if this is in the archives at Motown waiting to be released or if it released.

I read in new Record collector magazine as it's got Northern feature about The Four Tops doing This Old Heart of Mine but was given to Isley Brothers but would love to hear it if it's in the archives.

I have not heard / come across a version by The Four Tops of " TOHOM " , but I would not be surprised if they had not done one . The Supremes recorded a version which has surfaced , which is a very good , which is high praise from me , seeing as I do not like the group ........

Considering how many previously unissued 60s Motown sides by the Tops have surfaced over the past 15-20 years - enough sides to fill several CDs, in fact - I would be very surprised if a version of "This Old Heart of Mine" was still in the vaults, paricularly if it was the original.

It was a common parctice of Motown's in the 60s to assign songs to certain artists and then switch them to other artists later. Vocals by the originally intended artists did not always get recorded, and sometimes they did but never further than a rough 'guide' vocal, which would be wiped when the 'real' one was laid down. That might well be what happened in this case, as I've checked all my Tops CDs and vinyl albums that contain P/U stuff and, unless I'm missing it in the track listings, none of them contain TOHOM.
