April 15, 200520 yr Off the top of my head, I think the writers were Mason/Reed, I noticed this first time I ever saw the Ted Wilson label, therefore the Jason Cord is the original as these two were major purveyors of 60's UK pop.
April 15, 200520 yr Thats correct Pete, and produced by David Balfe, the lable is Chapter One, you have to wonder where the likes of Ted Wilson would pick up on this to do a version. Skeeny

Skeeny link David Balfe?? Surely not of "Teardrop Explodes" fame, he must have only been about 12 years old then! As for where they hear it - same as over here I guess, acetates sent from songwriters to publishing companies and then given to management for their clients.
April 10, 200718 yr I came across this post/thread recently "I cant take no more "of your lies was a Les Reed /Jackie Rae song . First recording by Jason Cord and First Chapter in a lame attempt by their manager to Launch JC as the new Tom Jones. Unfortunately the manager was a throwback ( and should have been ) . The band recorded one more song which was more pop called "why shouldnt I ? After a couple years they split and JC went solo for a while . Interestingly enough, when they played soul tracks they were pretty darned good and as a regular covers band also very good. David Balfe was the engineer and I believe he was in a well known band prior to his Behind the scenes career. He worked with Les a fair bit at Wessex Studios in London ( converted church) j Edited April 10, 200718 yr by carr
