1. when someone throws up a mp3 sound clip as an attachment it "should" display a embedded media player, allowing play, pause etc etc
hopefully its done so its cross broswer and all should see something like below and when hit play ....it plays!
tested on latest msie and firefox
so max users can use, let us know if a problem via email/pm, saying what browser/os using
2. do you think a separate sounds forum/sub-forum be better ?? or leave it as it is ??
3. due to possible over use of bandwidth, could make all sounds member only, any thoughts ???

It should work and post just same way as forum
Once activated, all have to do to post is hit the
Add Entry
link that is on the right hand side near top
that should then open up a forum type "reply" box
if wanna add attachments, theres a attachment box exactly the same as
the forum reply thing
Bit after the event after your mass upload but may be useful
If anyone having problems (tested fully - but may be something missed) feel free to shout here or via pm

I'm going to try and post some track clips up...this is MAINLY new stuff which I think is fairly unknown, plus a few better known things, a lot of them are very early 60's, there are several r&b type things - just one point, I am not claiming any of these are any good, it's just that a lot ofmpeople keep asking me when I'm going to list the lesser known stuff so I thought I'd do the next best thing here.

A New main feature on soul source
...final one on site was addition of source soulblog - a feature that allows every member on soul source to have their own personal blog
If dunno what a blog is, well easiest way to desrcibe it is own personal website -
can be used for all sorts (see example/info in blog section) and as it uses all the same features/tools as the forum it should be well easy to use for all members, all same things available as in forum - formatting the text, adding images, sounds, links and so on.
If you can post in the forum then can in a couple of minutes have own blog up and running complete with own personal web address

Not keen, Mike.
Everytime I hit 'view new posts' it brings up reams of 'em!
I really arn't interested in the ebay posts. for two reasons
1/ I think it gets in the way of the site, and should be posted elswhere.
2/ If one finds something on ebay, you hope to keep it quiet. putting stuff up on the forum tips everyone off, and lessens ones chances of winning it. Let 'em find their own stuff, bargains are harder to come by as it is!
PS this is just MHO, Mike an I defer to the majority if they want it

Thought it was running in background, dont use the "new post" thing much so unaware they were hammering that
as said its a reference thing, idea being that it collect every ebay over 100 post, and idea being over time may build up to something usefull
as interefering will take it out of view, and look at better way later on

I guess I'm the sort of 'spammer' you guys are talking about. I've posted a number of auctions & sales in the 'for sale' section. I haven't made any posts otherwise. I've been a long time lurker on this site, and really enjoy all the information & discussion. I just haven't felt like posting anything myself, my bad I guess. I didn't know that I would have to be a regular poster to advertise stuff for sale in the sales section. From what I saw there were no rules that I was breaking, or I woudn't have posted there to begin with.
I love soul music, and fund my buying by selling off stuff on eBay & Gemm. Most of the stuff I sell on Ebay is all priced with Buy It Nows, so I thought it's a bit of an equivilant to a set sale.
I just thought that people who enjoy the same types of music that I like might be interested in looking at some cheap (and hopefully good) records for sale.
Sorry if I've come off as a spammer, I'm not, just a lurker who thought posting records for sale in the records for sale section would be OK. If it's not I'll stop, but you should make it more clear what the terms or conditions are, or that you need some minimum amount of posts before or other people will be pissed off by your posts.
Anyways, I'm happy to join this discussion, and thanks to everyone involved with this website!

doesn't make the grade via pc speakers
but did sound good out to me
just re-reading above and doing bit idle wondering about the whole "sounds good out" thing
along lines of does the where and how first hear a sound affect how you take it in ?
