Can we ask that you refrain from using talc....it really is a nuisance for the staff tending the floor afterwards. and the venue is in constant use and its unfair for other users to come into to a talc filled floor...many many dancers I speak to say its not needed on this floor anyway Finally the use of talc nullifies the Public Liability insurance the venue has.....its the same for every venue Here's an example of a 'No talc required dancefloor'

Yes its that 'Full on Northern Soul for the dancefloor' experience.....The 'drum beat' is all about Silktown Soul.... 3 rooms .. *a dedicated dancehall .. *an adjacent chill out room to catch up with friends old and new *a roomy bar area AND... Yes... we have a large free car park adjacent Yes ... there is a well stocked bar and Yes ...the DJ's are extremely good looking

Paul and myself are really looking forward to tonight !!...it seems an age since we were last here... its always a great night.....with a really welcoming crowd and some mighty fine sounds to please them we'd best get 'fully loaded' with some dancing music I reckon !! see ya later !!!

Just thought I'd give a 'third party opinion'..simple but says it all Thanks for putting on another brilliant night of Northern Soul at the Masonic Hall Jez. It's a great night out.

For those who haven't been before.... Here at Silktown Soul..we focus on one particular metric which best reflects the event and what to expect...... FULL ON NORTHERN SOUL FOR THE DANCEFLOOR 'bout covers it' !!

Just a few 'housekeeping notes and polite requests/reminders Can we ask that if you really need to use talc...can it be kept to a bare minimum and not sprayed liberally over the floor area..it really is a nuisance for the staff tending the floor afterwards....many dancers I speak to say its not needed on this floor anyway Can we also ask if anyone wants to video the dancers with a focus on individuals can they please refrain..its important that we protect/respect peoples privacy Can we also ask that you don't consume drinks etc not purchased from the bar..it has been brought to our attention that empty bottles/cans have been found that haven't been purchased from the venue...lets give the venue a chance to make this event profitable...they put a lot of effort into making sure this event is quality Your co-operation in these matters is greatly appreciated

Just a slight change in personnel...unfortunately Tom can't make it...and to say he's gutted is an understatement. He has a badly sprained ankle and it's totally out of the question to travel all the way up from Rugby in Friday night summer holiday traffic.. and hobble about behind a set of decks for an hour !! in agony We WILL invite Tom back in the near future and we are very much looking forward to it...and you can take that 'to the bank' as Shalimar would say.... From us ALL at Silktown get well soon Tom !!! I dont need to explain when you fill Blackpool Tower ballrooms dancefloor...you've hit the motherlode.....you've 'beasted' it. .no really they aint much more that you can do to capture the crowds interest..apart from maybe giving a rendition of nessum dorma in full Pavarotti Tenor mode............we'll skip on that in Macclesfield though !!! So as you can see....there will be NO compromise...same 'Full on Northern Soul for the dancefloor' for a crowd who expect it !!! Enjoy !!!!

Just a polite reminder... you may have noticed from the flyer...that we are starting the music at 7.30pm and not the customary 7pm start. The Friday teatime/end of working week traffic has made it increasingly difficult to keep to time...and dont get me started on roadworks ffs !!! HOWEVER the bar will open at 7pm so you can meet and greet other people in the spacious bar area whilst we finish setting up Those of you who have arrived early in the past will have noticed we are busy ,feverishly trying to get everything set up to how we all want it and its always a race against the clock Thanks for your consideration and understanding
