Hi to all hailing from the Bedford area, yeah I too can remember the Rovers do's, locally the Addison centre held a few soul nights as well as a club in Kempston think it was the Wellington but could be wrong on that, Tommy used to run do's at the Cutler club as well........ I was at Mander college and used to go in the Pilgrims afterwards,,,,,,,, good times and fond memories.

Agree with you on the authenticity, but to my mind, starting bids at high prices would surely put some off, would me for sure, we all have have own ideas on what records are worth or current going rates, point I was trying to make was that the starting point was high. Auctions are auctions as you say and you bid and if you are the highest bidder you win, simple as but personally if I wanted We the people I would not start my bidding at £100. I am not knocking PB only making an observation,

Seen it on here for as low as £40 Frustrating to have to put an offer in, must know what he wants for it so why not put ''offers in the region of'' or something similar

The reason you go is for the music right ?, the same reason we all go or are still involved, I am 53, been into it since I was 16. Now if young blood wants to come onto the scene and enjoy it as much as I have then all well and good, try it, if you like it you will stick with it. Don't get knocked by the knockers on the scene, do what you want to do, if you want to sit in a corner and listen and not dance then do so, if you want to collect then do so, get out of the scene what you want, there are more good genuine people on the scene than the other way round. Young or old............... it's what's in the groove that counts, lets not forget it eh

Just been looking at JM's site at the TMG's he has and noticed some 500's (as well as others) with solid centre, with or without ''sold in uk subject to etc''. Which are the first issues ? are the 4 prong versions the first issues and when did the solids come in ? Are there any references to the differences and stuff like print size versions anywhere ? Chiefy, There is the St.Ivo reunion in October, everyone could meet up there, I may even come out of retirement(please my brother as he is always pestering me LOL). have a look on the gig guide thing on here, think it is around the 15th, £10 a ticket I believe. Normally a cracking night although have not been for about 6 years or so.
