  1. Hi Karen Regret can't answer the question. But whilst cruising your site just noticed fantastic photo. Reminds me of that scene in the Blues Brothers - "I Have Seen The Light" Keep at it. Col.

Saw a car plate with TMG 501 on, which I really liked. But I'm fond of a lot of things tacky. Col.
  5. The worrying thing Karen, is that in general I don't worry about anything. And def. not about any of the old tosh I post up here But thanks for being supportive. Col
  6. No, its just an interest of mine.
  7. Maybe I should have put a wider selection of records up. Too Late. Col.
  8. No worries. I think I was just having a sensitive 5 minutes. That's when I need to see everything through rose tinted blinkers. Col.
  9. Thats amazeing, you,d never guess what I do for a liveing Col
  10. I would refer the honourable member for Rushden, Northants to the statement made earlier in the debate -"Its only supposed to be a bit of fun" The poll was a retrospective and fond look at some records that most of us enjoyed at the time. It wasn't meant to be an opportunity for the self-righteous to hijack it with high minded and overly negative comments. Col.
  11. Billy Butler - My Heart Is Hurting Had it since the early 80s when Manship was knocking out Okeh as cheap as chips. Hardy ever played around here. Phylis Hyman - Baby I'm Gonna Love You Never heard it played anywhere. True diva & what a soulful voice. Feel free to add... Col.
  12. Changes every other day. A couple of local DJs play Home Is Where The Heart Is for me, without me requesting it. But, I like stuff like that. Col.

  14. Yeah I know they're all played out oldies. But, just for a laugh lets poll the definitive northern soul record. The record that encompassed and epitomised the time. Feel free to add your own suggestion. Its only supposed to be a bit of fun. If anybody wants to post a pre 85 poll, please crack on. I can't comment post '85 as I was on a break.... Col.
  15. Bit of history being made around this record/time. Correct me if im wrong. Sousan then went on (that year?) to launch Shalimar's career with 'Uptown Festival' Les Mc Cutcheon (Colin Bee Pressings) was Sousan's apprentice in waiting at that time. He picked up all tricks of the trade & then went on to launch Shakatak's career. The rest as they say is history...... Col.
  16. Fair few dos in central/east london these days. Don't think I've ever seen one do in West London. Some sort of soul vacuum?

  20. I had never heard of Charles Walker up until last year. A few of my mates had, having seen him previously in sleepy Chiddingfold, Surrey. Approx 10 of us went to watch him in down town toxic Aldershot. Happy to confirm Sam's findings, that CW has an amazing voice & is a consumate performer. A good time was had by all in our group. Col.

One to avoid - Yvonne Fair - "It Should Have Been Me" Col
  23. Here's a little line of thought for you. People have paid there money to listen to Northern Soul. They have also travelled a long way & parked up their motor in a slightly worrying part of town. Its Friday night and they're really up for it. You start playing Leo Price & others.....people start getting a bit narked. Then you go back to playing soul records.....but you've lost the crowd. Am I wide of the mark? Col.
  24. Are you really thinking here......or just assuming? Col.
  25. Appreciate your reply Andy. All things being equal I hope to be there in July. Col
