  1. Steve Furst aka Lenny Beige one of the support actors in Little Britain and the gingerish geezer in the Orange ads has been a regular for years.
  2. Yes most are just sightings on a night out but Shane, Sean, Steve Davis, some of Primal Scream, Paul Weller and a couple of others are big Northern / soul fans.
  3. That's a good one I would have bored people with if I could have remembered it, he must have been with those prats who came down from the Dirtbox. Who threw him out? Sean McCluskey from the Joboxers was a 100 Club regular and DJed there too.
  4. Yes but different design. Thanks for the labels Michael, very nice.
  5. It's also on a recent Kent City 7" vinyl 45 release with the Pretenders A Broken Heart Cries on the flip. Limited edition though so be quick, when they're gone, they're gone
  6. Shane McGowan was the 100 Club cloakroom attendant and loved the music and came to dos regularly. Same with the Alarm and trash group the Stingrays. Tony Smith saw a Sex Pistol, Roisin Murphy comes down occasionally and Kenny were big in the 70s.
  7. I think that was another regular (not 6TS) night he was there. He was well behaved on our night.
  8. I'm not saying he wasn't there, I just can't remember it!
  9. Thanks for all that folks; Soul Source at it's most sleuthfull. In the end my old Harboro mate Andy Pollard has it nestling in his box, so it doesn't have to travel too far.
  10. Were you inbetween glasses Ben? That was Paolo Hewitt with Noel or Liam (I can't remember which one) I don't remember Paul actually going though I did and do flog him records. He's probably been to Keb's do more than any.
  11. I don't think anyone's having a bash at Ian here, ImberBoy was just having his say and most of the other posts have been in favour of the film, with some reservations. I too helped the film and am glad I did, but I can understand the criticism too.
  12. Thanks Davie, I e-mailed him. Is it good and presumably expensive, it's pretty rare I would think.
  13. For a new Kent project. CDs rewards, credits and eternal thanks to the helpful hero.
  14. It's not perfect by any means but there are a lot of great moments in there. Rose Batiste and the Gems spring to mind. I brought Carl Carlton over to the UK on the strength of seeing him in that vid. Everyone should have a personal edit copy of it to get one very good DVD from it but everyone's would be different. I only struggled with it on video, I should get a DVD which I believe are easier to fast forward, did someone say it's coming out in a better edit?

Dave was a massive fan of theirs and showed a lot of people, myself included, that Bob & Earl were much more than purveyors of stunning dancers, they were true artists at any form of soul music. He got to speak with both of them and passed on his and our admiration for them directly.

  17. That's it thanks but when I did it it didn't come up

Very sad, he'll be greatly missed in LA and over here.
  19. Sorry Ian, I'd have sworn that was true until now. I blame the Northern Soul grapevine.
  20. Thanks that's great, what it's all about. I think Loneliness is genius, right on the edge. I'm OK for the bog at the moment but I'll let you know.
  21. There were a hell of a lot of gear deals for records then so the price would depend on the market value of red and browns to some extent!
  22. Loneliness is fantastic, I'd like to see that article too.
  23. Surely it was Ian Dewhirst who's on here who bought CA and I think it was £180 which was crazy because it about doubled the top price previously and seemed a bit excessive Dave Burton was going to sell Time's A Wasting to Minsh for about £100 around 1973 at the Torch but someone found out Dave had done a couple of acetates and the price dropped to something like £60
  24. Thanks Chalky. Do you know what label he's got it on and what the difference is with the labels?
