I was just sad that they stopped and am saddened to think that Dave went through such challenging times that prevented him from producing more issues of such a brilliant magazine.
In the pre-chatroom era, it was a very valuable resource for finding new sounds and learning more about the folklore surrounding the soul scene.
I for one would welcome Mr McCadden's continued input on this site.

hi grant
yes the faster version does exist on 45!!
i heard this version too on the same lp
i bought an issue from Anglo for 100 quid as it said mega rare issue and thought it was THE version but it wasnt as it was the same as the orange demo copeies
but i managed to find one on era 3206 which still says a slice of the pie on the label but is the much more danceable version
must be rare as its the only ive seen.,all other copies of 3156 (think thats the number) are the slower version
still a big 45 wasnt it in its day??

was listening to GR from a live tape from wigan just the other day and was just thinkng he was playing way ahead of his time
he had cecil washington, magnetics, custers last band etc spinning in 1980
never really listened to him in the early days as i was just getting into oldies etc but i agree with the others a great underated dj at the time...
always seemed to play his own brand of uptempo stuff...but i dont think hes got the records now has he?
johnn yhoward - the chase is on - bashie w/d £350
tammy wayne - have a good time - boom w/d £100
