Fair point Pete. Shame really. I never used to have a fag until around 9 at night and that was with a couple of cans of beer then I would smoke 20 up until around 11.30 and feel shit the next day. So I gave up around 5 years ago and have felt great since. Never even think about one now.

Pete , it is only a 10 yard walk to get outside and it is undercover where they all gathered for a smoke with a cigarette bin on the wall. You can still hear the music clearly.The only difficulty from your point I suppose is when you are selling records and you have to pop out and not be looking after them yourself.

I prefer CD's to vinyl and rubber dolls to women.

We have got Ian Levine appearing at The Connaught Hotel next year on Friday May 2nd. Don't really know what to expect as not many people have a good word to say about him but I bet we have a massive turnout that night with people travelling for the occasion.

I have an agreement with Dawn if we should ever split up which she is quite happy with. Everything is divided 50 /50. I have the records and she has the sleeves they are in. Can't get much fairer than that.

Calm down everbody and chill out for gods sake. Sometimes we take this whole soul scene far too serious. This is just a one off event even if it might be a little half heated the emphasis will be on having a good night by all. Thats all. No politics. I know for a fact my lad and his girlfriend who are both in their early 20s will be coming to see his Mum. Neither of them have never been to a Soul night before. I'm sure if they enjoy it they will return at a later date.

Theres every chance I've seen her sink more than 16 pints in the past. PS sort some big money stuff out of your box for her to play.

Should be very enjoyable.I cant wait. My Dawn's having 16 pints of Strongbow cider before her spot and she's borrowing Phil Richards records so that should be very interesting.
