F**kin hell Mike you have a good memory I did pick up on these dodgy cd's and bring it to the attention of the Modern list at the time.Surely this guy must be well known,he's obviously got a good knowledge of Northern and Modern.He's from Preston. He does turn over some nice modern stuff.LP's mainly. The Ujima OUCH,he did well there.but the Sean Oliver puzzles me,ok the 12" goes for a few quid,but you can get the CD with it on and also Magic which is infinitely better than You and Me. I'm f*kcing bouncing I won a record off ebay for $60,paid via paypal. Six weeks later no show. Emailed the seller he said it was posted day after I won it. With paypal you have to claim within 45 days to try and get your money back,so I put a claim in on the 44th day. Next day the record turns up,so I cancel the claim,email the seller tell him it's turned up,must have come surface mail,as it's not his fault,I leave him positive feedback. The Tw*t then leaves me negative feedback,because I put a claim in !!!! I will NEVER EVER leave feedback for someone again til they have given me positive feedback first. I paid the seller within 20 minutes of the auction closing and I end up with negative feedback. I know there's F*ck all I can do about it. Pete

I've had loads of the 'if you don't sign in you'll be suspended' ones.But this one is much sneakier,it looks like a an email from another ebay member and asks 'if you're still interested in the item?' It was only because the print on the signing in page was different,that I didn't put my details in. BEWARE Pete

Depends where he heard it really. There's a remix by Masters Of Works of 'Are You Using Me' which has seen a lot of action in the Modern rooms,there's also the Change stuff 'Glow Of Love' etc And also Greg Diamond-Hot Butterfly which are anthems. Can you hum it? Cheers Pete

It's got loads of bing bongs just like Jean Carne(was that all it was) and goes on for ages and ages,not like the 2 and a half minuters you spin

You're starting to sound like your avtar now I hate garage/house but isn't Hardsoul feat'g Ron Carrol a really soulful tune I can play in the Northern rooms

It's always the 12" that I've heard played out at Modern do's.Maybe the 7" may appeal more to the crossover crowd Cos they tend to like the little black shiny things more than the rambling 12"s Cheers Pete

Also worth picking up are a couple of Wilton Felder lp's with Bobby Womack on vocals,the most noteable being 'Inherit the Wind' and 'No Matter How High' off the Secrets album. His highest chart success was a duet with Lulu with a cover of Jean Carne + Al Johnson's 'Back For More' Pete

Soul Source covers pretty much covers all aspects of the soul scene, Rare,Northern,Modern R+B,something for everyone on here. To say he's on the wrong forum is a little off the mark, you may not like Kenny Thomas,but the impact that 'HIM' has had in the modern rooms over the last 12 months cannot be denied.
