  2. Cheers Alan as ever thanks for your support mate. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  3. Nail on head here but not from the Bicknell camp and many other DJ's who do the best they can with authentic records, I really don't want to get into the originals V bootleg debate as it's rather boring but is it not simply a case of if you want to take the bigger stage and play Rare Soul records then at least use the real deal tools of the trade as it were. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  4. That very thought went through my head a couple of hours ago but after a little practice I did ok without any cock-up's lol. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  5. Sounds really good on Sky, now I'm off upstairs to see it the front door key still fits to open 'The Soul Shack'......lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  6. It most certainly is www.starpointradio.com just click on the 'real player' link and away you go......thanks for all your early support and kind comments so far. Regards - Mark Bicknell.

  8. Cheers Chalky, it's so easy to tune this in if you follow the guidelines above, like I said if I can do it anyone can so easy. Now what to play on the first show?....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  9. Return of 'The Soul Shack' - New Show - New Location - It's Back. www.starpointradio.com - Covering a show on Sunday October 14th - 6pm - 8pm - Then new show/slot details TBC - So watch this space! New Show time slot now confirmed for Saturday nights midnight - 2am, there are no free slots available at the present time on Sunday's so being the new boy on the station I'm simply happy to be given the chance of a show, as soon as a better time slot becomes available then I will be given consideration to move, basically catch the show when and if you can on www.starpointradio.com and on the Sky channel, the first show will broadcast on Saturday October 20th and then every Saturday night, still covering this coming Sunday's 'Kev Roberts' show 6pm - 8pm, the format of the new show will as alway's be top tuneage and I intend to maintain the passion and standards, watch this space for any changes as and when a Sunday slot comes my way. Thanks - Mark Bicknell. Time slot update - Just had an email from Carl at 'Starpoint' with some good and bad news depending on how you review the following that is?....lol at the present time there are very few free time slots available at the station and it's been suggested that I may have to consider taking midnight till 2am on Saturday night which is of course a very different time slot to 'The Soul Shack' of old on a Sunday night, I basically may have to take this slot as I do not wish to step on anyone's toes or upset the shows already on the station,it's not the most perfect slot but at least I will get my foot in the 'Starpoint' door as it were, any feedback or suggestions would be most helpful at this stage. bicknellmark@aol.com - This is still yet to all be confirmed but I thought it best to keep everyone interested in this up to speed, final details TBC very soon. Regards - Mark Bicknell - October 11th 2007. Since my departure from Solar Radio back on September 3rd to say I've missed the show would be an understatement as sometimes you don't realise how special something like this is to do until it's no longer there, so there has been somewhat of a gap and a void in my life since 'The Soul Shack' closed, well there has been a major re-fit and the little wooden hut has had a new coat of paint and a move of location and it ready to get a little soulful once again with 'Big Daddy' I have been asked to cover a show next Sunday October 14th from 6pm - 8pm on Starpoint Radio www.starpointradio.com and on Sky with a view to present a regular weekly show on the station, the format, music, guests, passion, commitment will be the same as before if not more so, you can listen on Sky Digital by following the instructions on www.starpointradio.com which is very simple and only takes a couple of minutes, it's so easy as I did it last night now if I can do it anyone can trust me, you only need to do it once and the station will be there in your Sky services set up for as long as you want it. Or you can simply listen on line via www.starpointradio.com It would be nice for 'Friends Of The Soul Shack' to tune in and join me for two hours in 'The Soul Shack', watch this space for news and the new regular show details to follow as soon as everything is confirmed and in place, many thanks to my old friend Carl Lewis at Starpoint Radio for getting in touch and giving me the chance to turn the lights on again and crank up the volume in 'The Soul Shack'..........I'm as happy as a pig in the brown stuff! For requests, mentions, dedications contact bicknellmark@aol.com 'The Soul Shack' returns - Sunday October 14th 6pm - 8pm www.starpointradio.com Full time time slot details and information TBC - Watch this space. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  10. Yes Pete I must have heard a rough copy of the boot, I think my other information is correct though on this. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  11. I alway's thought the difference between the original and the boot was simply sound quality? as the styrene boots sound awful. Mine has 65C-9290 - 1 scratched out in the dead wax and not 65L, this number has not been altered or changed, authentic 1965 Atco vinyl issue, also has small drill hole, sound quality excellent despite age wear and tear. I would say if the first example scan here has the 65C number and is vinyl then it's authentic anything else then possibly not. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  12. Thanks Pete. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  13. It came out on the following - Carrie - 009 mid green label remix version - £40.00 Carrie - 009 light green label remix version - £20.00 Carrie - 6502 - Orange label - hardest one to find - £300.00/£350.00 Jameco - 2008 - I have a white demo on this label - £30.00/£50.00 and Mary Jane 6707 as 'I'm Gonna Love You' with a different B side - 'Just Let Me Know', 'I'm Gonna Love You' is a different mix to Carrie 009 - £100.00 Information taken from JM's 4th edition price guide. 15. So there not new then or just out then? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  16. Trouble is if they are bootlegs nothing will be done or put in place to do anything about it, often the intention is there to bring bootlegers to book but it never seems to happen, we all talk about the wrong doing and suggest or indirectly point fingers at who it might be but still it continues, the fact is that if these are bootlegs? they are now out there in the public domain and will be selling to people, any impact from a legit source has now been lost, often the major companies fail to see or know their market place and moan about it after the fact, I'm not saying bootlegs in this instance is correct but if there is no one in place at the legit companies with the vision or knowledge of what they are sitting on then perhaps it's a little late to after the fact when this happens to do anything about it. Can you imagine how well a well researched, well put together four CD box set on The Ric - Tic/Golden World Story would have sold, a similar packed perhaps as the Sue - EMI box set from a few years ago, it would have been a top seller no question. I'm pretty sure the likes of Ady Croasdell/Tony Rounce at Ace/Kent would have looked into Ric-Tic etc. long ago and I bet the response from Universal was a huge licence cost per track which would have blown the idea out of the water so perhaps if this was the case it was left alone. I also know that Jo Wallace had the vision and idea to do something with Ric - Tic as she asked me to help her with it but these projects take time and are way down the pecking order with these companies and often the ideas/projects like this never happen, I'm sure Jo won't mind me mentioning this now. This bootleg thing has gone hand in hand with the Northern scene since the very early days, from time to time someone get's the collar felt and is put out of circulation but in the main nothing get's done or changes as the proof in the pudding is it's still going on, again I can't comment that these CD's in question are bootlegs but if they are and you are totally anti bootleg then perhaps the best possible form of action is simply not to buy them? Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  17. Oh my R50UL comment was only a joke by the way.....lol each to their own and all that.....after all Jimmy Tarbuck has C0M1C now that's criminal....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  18. I wonder if R50UL exsists???? because that's what most people are with personal plates....lol Regards - Mark Bicknell.
  19. Do you mean the Ric-Tic Relics Volumes Eddie? seen them on a couple of web sites but I don't think they are via Universal? Jo Wallace I'm sure would be the best person to confirm this. Regards - Mark Bicknell.
