Worked the floor very nicely at Soul Funk-tion last year. Major rarity, class dancer. Clip; https://db.tt/U6fcddvK The Stars of Faith - 'Mean old world' (Savoy) Weak VG+ (plays strong) (White label PROMO, minor dirt/wear) Price in US DOLLARS = $125 Seen at the end of 2015 on a major list at $200, and as a previously unknown spin....an amazing r&b stroller that’s prime for more exposure. Sounds top drawer played at a club. Clip; https://db.tt/JjnUGV4p Walter Letts Gospel Singers – ‘Bad confusion’ (Letts) VG- (some label wear) Price in US DOLLARS = $100 Massive hard hitting club banger. Road tested around Europe last year to great results! Clip; https://db.tt/NW8DPvQU The Powerful Singing Tornados – ‘I find the road’ (PDG) M- Price in US DOLLARS = $90 **SOLD** Quality dancer that should appeal to the more forward thinking dancefloors out there. Class, northern feel with a slight funk finish ;) Clip; https://db.tt/uRRigxPw Birmingham Traveleers – ‘Call me, answer’ (Birmingham Traveleers) VG- (some label damage) Price in US DOLLARS = $90 Storming funk cut with a slight modern touch. Club killer, no doubt. The flipside is a bit of a mess, with the wax being heavily marked, and the labels badly trashed….like this was sitting on the end of a stack unsleeved at some point. Thankfully, that’s not the side you’re looking for! Clip; https://db.tt/6njhJrgH Brown's Chapel Young Adult Choir - 'Roll Jordan' (HTB) G+ (some dirt on the label) Price in US DOLLARS = $75 Another big club cut…debuted this at Go Go Children in Bristol to a full dancefloor in 2013. Don’t let the ‘Choir’ title fool you! Big drums, relentless groove. Clip; https://db.tt/vl57P43B Morning Doves - 'Come out the wilderness' (Kable) G+ Price in US DOLLARS = $75 Bargain price for this hard funk cut. Plays with some background noise. Big club sound. Clip; https://db.tt/dLQTKrjL Herman Harris & the Voices of Faith, Hope & Love – ‘Give yourself to Jesus’ (V.F.H.L.) Picture on request) Price in US DOLLARS = $50 **SOLD** Strong midtempo funk cut, comped by the Numero Group. Heavy relentless rhythm section delivered with attitude. Clip; https://db.tt/insoh54g Voices of Heaven – ‘Voices on the move’ (Love Productions, Inc.) VG Price in US DOLLARS = $50 **SOLD** A G+ conditioned copy sold recently for $75. Currently, there is a scratch on this copy during the intro which is causing a couple of skips. It looks like this could be picked out. The rest of the disc plays clean. Please check out the soundclip to make your decision. I could provide a picture of the scratch on request. Massive record for me on the right dancefloors and simply sounds huge in a club. Clip; https://db.tt/2HDzRrEU The Mighty Gospel True Lights of Brooklyn, N.Y. – ‘Family prayer’ (Elvitrue) VG (4 straight line marks on the vinyl DNAP) Price in US DOLLARS = $50 Killer deep spiritual soul out of the Carolina’s…..played recently on The Divine Chord Gospel Show. Clip; https://db.tt/CtlbHp8H Johnita & Joyce Collins (The Gospel Whirlwinds) – ‘Trouble in the land will soon be over’ (Whirlwind) VG Price in US DOLLARS = $50 Perfect, fiery soul from this Mother/Daughter group….highly collectable stuff! Clip; https://db.tt/vtKy8avG The Scott Singers - 'When the saints go marching in' (Sacred Singers) VG- Price in US DOLLARS = $40 **SOLD** Killer driving funk on this collectible label...very loud recording which is a little hot in places, but still, a burner no doubt. Clip; https://db.tt/nlsfiyuE Voices of Inspiration of the Church of God – ‘Wade in the water’ (NECC) VG+ Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Solid, obscure, and dark….quality choir version. Clip; https://db.tt/vSjZpwwm Clara Walker & the Gospel Redeemers - 'Say it loud' (Soul Music Co.) VG- (plays solid) Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Quality midtempo funk cut drawing influences from James Brown's 'Say it loud (I'm black and I'm proud'). High quality funky soul groove that should see some club action. Clip; https://db.tt/cxEPzuAJ Sister Richards & Brother Broxton – ‘Did you stop to pray today’ (Tener Custom) Weak VG+ Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Pure fire and brimstone, from the label that brought you the majestic funk cut by the Universouls. Rare! Clip; https://db.tt/u6Xdetho Mighty Voices of Wonder – ‘What is this’ (M.V.W.) VG Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Quality midtempo soul with a funk touch. Tough to source private pressing. Clip; https://db.tt/RKAiJ0Ds The Mighty Walker Brothers – ‘Lord look down upon me’ (Amon) G+ (plays well above grade) Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Big drums, mournful harmonies and a belting lead vocal. Pretty much perfect spiritual music. Clip; https://db.tt/dnTlsdhi The Voices of Praise – ‘Jesus came into my soul’ (Avatar) VG Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Sublime modern soul stepper. Huge recommendation for greater things. A cleaner copy would surely reach 3 figures IMO. Clip; https://db.tt/npC04sGz The Sensational – Jesus gave me water’ (Skyway) M- Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Down to my last copies of this amazing sweet soul cut. Solid support on the ‘rider scene, & rightly so. Clip; https://db.tt/wapUGHI3 Sons of Zion – My mother is gone’ (Bilesse) VG++ (WOL) Price in US DOLLARS = $40 Proto hiphop drums provide the backbone for this group harmony piece. Beautiful stuff. Divine Chord Gospel Show pt. 57 mixcloud link
Here's the 57th installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com, broadcast on 23rd March 2016. To kick off this months show, we head to midtempo territory exploring killer cuts from the Soul Superiors out of Chicago, as well as touching on two great underground labels, Memorial & HSE. The last few months have neglected slightly the deep soul portion of the show, so for this session we've extended it a tad...some real beauties are spotlighted here, from raw indie pressings, to some more gold from the ever reliable Champ stable. We close out this month with a snapshot of big funk bombs, from established artists on the gospel soul scene. Huge club tracks from Willie Banks, the Messiahs of Glory & the Sensational Williams Brothers. But it's the Shirley Caesar cut that takes the cake...a big tip for future greatness. It's an LP only track but watch this one explode! Feel free to join the facebook group 'The Divine Chord Gospel Show'!

Wednesday 23rd March - DCGS pt. 57 and 'Time-Less
Please join me on dublab.com, Wednesday 23rd March @ 2pm US PDT (9pm UK time...CLOCKS HAVE GONE FORWARD ONE HOUR IN THE US, BUT NOT YET IN THE UK), for the next installment of the Divine Chord Gospel Show pt. 57, followed by another session of 'Time-Less'. https://dublab.com/ I'll be rolling out a bag of goodies ranging from mid tempo soulful vocal 45's before headin to a slightly extended deep soul section.....loading up the harmonies and focusing on the sparse heavy beats. Rounding off this broadcast this month with be series of uptempo funk cuts getting their debut spin....many of which are targetted for dancefloor destruction. If you missed the last show, here's the archived mixcloud link; https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/divine-chord-gospel-show-pt-56-with-guest-dj-paul-sadot/ Also, please feel free to explore and subscribe to our youtube channel featuring some of the choicest 45's to be played on the show. We've just surpassed our 200th video, so please check it out and subscribe here; https://www.youtube.com/user/DivineChordGospel/videos?flow=grid&view=0 'Time-Less' is an infrequent broadcast, focusing on the beatscapes of 90’s club culture. Tracks that were forward thinking in production techniques, ground breaking in textures and time signatures but yet often forgotten. With the 2000’s came the advent of more powerful computers, easier accessibility to software and an ease to create at home; beatmakers of the 90’s had to either adapt or fall by the wayside. We’ll be unearthing some of the cream of the crop, that still relied on outboard gear, physical mixing desks and insane wired up patch bays to get the job done. With it came a certain warmth, particularly when it was arguably the last bastion of dance music to promote, press and present their music solely onto vinyl….it’s within these grooves that we’d like to celebrate with you a time in beat making. Join us as we spin the original format of what truly was a ‘Time-Less’ age. Check out a previous show right here; https://www.mixcloud.com/gregbelson/time-lessan-exploration-of-analogue-beats-pt-1/ Thanks everyone and see you there!

New Eli "Paperboy" Reed Track, "Hold Out" just released, album in June
Yeah, 'Hold out' is an amped up version of a gospel cut from back in the day. The whole LP is heavily draped with gospel influences, and as somebody who has already heard the whole set, I can say it really is a powerhouse recording. Seriously, this is gonna turn some heads this year, both in execution, song writing, performance and production. Watch out, as they say!

Divine Chord Gospel Show pt. 55 - Best of 2015 recap
Here's the 55th installment of The Divine Chord Gospel Show which appears monthly on dublab.com, broadcast on 27th January 2016. Welcome along to the DCGS Best of 2015 recap....a selection of heater cuts that proved to ignite many a club session I played around Europe & the US over the last 12 months. Heavy hitting funk cuts from Chicago, Boston, Texas, LA....safe to say this episode went coast to coast. Huge future club classics by the Soul Lifters & the Dynamic Imperious as well as brand new, incredible music from Eli 'Paperboy' Reed. Then, we launch into modern soul territory, kicking things off with the hard boogie funk of Ronald Jerry. Watch out for the crossover beauty that is the Gigantic Overland Travelers, followed by the vicious modern cut by Bishop Croom. The ender by the Testimonial Singers is a whole 'nother beast! Big shouts to the NYC Downlow crew with the Don Degrate monster too! Feel free to join the facebook group 'The Divine Chord Gospel Show'!
