ASHTON UKRAINIAN CLUB
A Massive thanks to The Brave Souls that are The Ashton Faithful, who braved Biblical Weather Conditions to attend Ashton Ukrainian Club. Many thanks to the bar staff and maintenance team, when the weather tried to join the proceedings, knocking out the toilet lights, necessity is The Mother of Invention, they kindly made the clubs upstairs toilets available, as they say "The Show Must go on!! Fantastic sets of music, delivered last, night, all styles and tempos catered for. Got to say our new speakers enhanced the musical experience, just how it should be!! Great opening set from Phil Dunn always delivers to our early arrivals!! Stu Cheetham was having a ball behind the decks, Jades "lucky fellow" Startones "loving you baby" Vanguards "good times, bad times" got the dance floor moving!! Michael Wilks Wilxy was next up treated us to great hour of Soul "Sheryl Swope "can't get off" Houston Outlaws, Lonette "blue jeans" mixed in with classics like Ronnie McNeir "pretty girl" great set mate!! Si Ingham followed kicking off with Chuck Cockerham, mixed in with The Hopkins Brothers "Shake Sheri" Celebrities "I choose you" and many more!! Spot of the night, for me personally was Chris Anderton sublime choices Pro Fascination, The Differences Lil Major Williams rubbing shoulders with The Classics, how good did The Impressions "you've been cheating" sound, dance floor lit, job done!! Ashton OG Chris Churm put the seal on another great night Ty Karim "you really made it good to me" Ascots "a few feet from the gutter and The Detroit Classic "Mighty Lover" still sounding so good, cream rises to the top. Keep your eyes on here, Soul-Source and Instagram for details of our October 18th event with guest DJs Tsop Manchester AKA Baz Maleady, Gamekeeper Jones and debuting for us Ashton Regular Karl Bodey another top night guaranteed!!

ASHTON UKRAINIAN CLUB
Saturday September 20th Ashton Ukrainian Club, presents a night of Rare and Underplayed Soul from the 60s/70s with that Old School Soul Club Vibe, from the halcyon days, with memories of iconic venues like Bretby, Albrighton, Lowton, Tony's, Burnley and so many more!!! Sound like your thing? For a sample of classy selections from our resident and Guest DJs please click on the link at the end of the post and head over to our Soul-Source event page thread !! Chris Anderton will be dipping into some of the big tunes from the aforementioned Clubs and of course a DAB of Crossover/70s Soul!! Michael Wilks "WILXY" delivered a real classy set last time out, more of the same sir!! Providing the energy early doors, we look forward to Stu Cheetham with a set heavily influenced from his time behind the decks at Burnley and a regular Niter Attendee at the much missed Tony's. Soul with attitude for the dancers, just how we like it. If you were at the recent Culcheth Dayer you'll be aware of the quality that Si Ingham brings to the occasion. He was the guiding light for the much missed Kenwood Suite at The Bury Town Hall Niters, those sessions still talked about in glowing terms!! Chris Churm and Phil Dunn complete another classy line up, as promised we have some more quality Guests booked for the coming months, more news of which, as we near the dates!! So Five and a Half hours of quality Soul Music is waiting for you and just £6 admission pay on the door. The night runs 7pm-00.30 Looking forward to welcoming our regular Ashton Brethren and our ever growing list of first time attendees !!
