ASHTON UKRAINIAN CLUB
While only just over a week to go to our July 20th date at Ashton Ukrainian Club, we're absolutely staggered by the interest for that and our remaining 2024 dates already WOW!!! This little club has grabbed the attention of The Rare Soul Scene and for that we thank you, sealed with a promise of Quality DJ line ups to share our gratitude, not forgetting people who have us on their radar for a future visit, you won't be disappointed! For those travelling from further afield, there are some decent hotels, not too far from the venue!! Please check out the Soul-Source event page thread, for an ever growing list of soulful platters from our Resident and Guest DJ's!! Ted Massey needs no introduction with an Awesome selection of 45s for the assembled masses!! Chris DAB of Soul Anderton makes an all too infrequent return behind the decks in the North West. Karl Chalky White, a well respected former Lifeline Resident and scribe on various sites with a huge knowledge from the heady days of Stafford, 100 Club and beyond!! Stu Cheetham, always adds the adrenaline factor to his DJ sets, when he's not spinning the 45s you'll always catch Stu "in the thick of it" on the dancefloor!! Team Ukrainian Residents Phil Dunn and Chris Churm complete a tasty line up, for a hugely anticipated event!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and what has to be the best value for money out there priced admission of £5 pay on the door!!!

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST 'MODERN' NIGHTER SOUNDS?
The sub genres can muddy the picture, as stated at the end of my post, all depends on your viewpoint?

WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST 'MODERN' NIGHTER SOUNDS?
Some records played at the back end of the casino, into the early days of the term Modern Soul at Niters, like Morecambe Pier, Clifton Hall etc Mike Jemison "you'll never get my love" (men in the moon c/u) Marvell Love "don't break that rule" Detroit Sounds Of Friction "I'm leaving" The Differences "five minutes" More recent years Joseph Webster "my love is so strong" Mixed Feelings "sha la la" Salt n Peppa "a man of my word" As stated loads to go at, depending on your viewpoint!!!

ASHTON UKRAINIAN CLUB
Once again a new month, brings another busy period, on the Soul Calendar. We cannot thank the Ashton Faithful enough for the overwhelming support and appreciation for what we offer at Ashton Ukrainian Club!! Our next event Saturday July 20th brings another Quality DJ line up!! Ted Massey is back with us, expect a fine array of 60s/70s Soul, from The Super Rare, to the "it's too good not to play" regardless of monetary value. Chris Dab of Soul Anderton returns for a highly anticipated set, with a dip into the playlists of the Iconic 90s venues, like Bretby and Albrighton, mixed in with a healthy sprinkling of Crossover/70s soul!! Former Lifeline Resident Karl Chalky White, always has a few surprises in his playlist, with maybe a few unissued gems thrown in for good measure. All action Personal Trainer Stu Cheetham is chomping at the bit, to get back behind the decks, the usual adrenaline fuelled dancers for those who like to hit the floor early doors!!! Phil Dunn will be opening proceedings to get you "in the mood" for another five and a half hours of music with that indefinable "it" factor!! We might even shuffle the pack and put "The Finisher" Chris Churm (if you know, you know) earlier on in the night, watch this space!!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £5 admission pay on the door(bargain) Check out the event page thread, for all the latest information and sample spins, as we look forward to another busy night!! Please feel free to RSVP the event, see you there!!

Loving this Chris Anderton spin, femme soul perfection, which in parts reminds me of The Rockmasters "raining teardrops"
