Well two years have flown by from the October 2021 re-launch of Ashton Ukrainian Club. We've had some amazing nights and been treated to some stunning DJ sets from an array of guests with playlists to rival any quality all-nighter. Saturday October 21st we welcome Kev Murphy, resident DJ at Culcheth and the much missed Lowton Civic Hall nights. Shropshire's finest Mark Jones will be joining Kev as an Ashton Debutant, expect the finest in rare and underplayed soul, with a few surprises. Really pleased to welcome Pete Hollander back behind the decks. Pete was responsible for the Winsford niters in the late 90s and more recently The Springfield , if Pete's in attendance you know it's gonna be a good night. Former Ukrainian Club resident Chris Penn will be making the long trip back down the A1 from the North East, quality Soul Music assured !! Starting the whole thing off Phil Dunn, playing his customary across the board set. Last but definitely not least Chris Churm after a stunning closing set in September, that turned a few heads As ever, please arrive early, to avoid disappointment!! The night runs 7pm-00.30 and just £5 admission pay on the door. Saturday September 16th we look forward to the return of John Parker, our roving International Soul Vlogger Darren Carroll will be there to capture that oh so special "atmosphere!! Phil Dunn is back from his travels and will be there to open the night's proceedings, before hot footing across the lounge area to take your money for a slice of what is sure to be another night not be missed!! Simon Ingham will be dropping the needle on some soulful vinyl gems that you just gotta dance to!!! Local heroes Geoff Stubbs and Derek Watmough will I'm sure be digging deep into their collections for your dancing feet!! Another great line up awaits, Phil Dunn will be multi tasking, opening the proceedings and taking your "hard earned" on the door. Expect a quality early doors set from "Team Ukrainian" stalwart Simon Ingham, judging by his list of potential spins, early arrival is a must, if not just to check out Stu Cheetham's array of wigs!! Blind Pig resident and a man with a breath-taking array of rare soul John Parker will heading down that there M62 to join us!! Quality all the way from our other guests two well respected DJs Stockport's Geoff Stubbs and Bolton's very own Derek Watmough. Holding it all together main man Chris Churm !! We arrived about 7.45pm bodies in already, for the 8pm start, always a good sign. We dipped in and out of the main and modern room, throughout the night. Got to say both rooms were rocking. Great retro modern soul set from Steve Plumb Melvin Moore, Wee" try me" Anthony White "hey baby" and many more. Hats off to Baz for the ground work and promotion to make this another must attend event on the first Saturday of the month!!
