  7. Yeah ok mate,I do go off the road a bit sometimes,The point I was trying to make is that most good songs are by good song writers, For future reference to all SS readers,ANY posts by me after about 22.30hrs,Should be totally ignored, because Iam more than likely pi**ed,and in one of those moods, ask the wife she will tell you. Grant

  9. Yes Webby we did it a month or two ago,Only then we had the Soul Police,Issuing death threats(joking),because You, I and a few other folk had the nerve to say that some Northern Soul records were crap, Will have to go now the S P will be knocking on the door soon,so I'm going into hiding(til after teatime lol) Grant
  10. Looks like this is turning into "The Northern Soul Track You Hate Or Dislike" Just read another post"How am I supposed to dance to this dross" (A) Go to the bar and get a beer like everyone else Grant
  11. Holland Dozier Holland,Norman Whitfield,John Lennon.Paul McCartney,Chuck Berry,Carl Perkins,Neil Sedaka,Pual Anka,George Gershwin,Paul Weller,Marvin Gaye All have written great songs or music,Soulful or not, Take this into consideration, Take a Northern Soul classic for instance:-The Dells "Run for cover" The music and lyrics for that little ditty could have been by grantdyche, Does that take away the fact that it's a good song The point I would like to make is that songs are made by song writers,Good song writers,Dont in general make good plumbers,And good plumbers don't in general make good song writers, Horses for courses,There are some good and some better, Grant

  13. The extended(12") of Don't leave me" is unbeatable the instrumental break is awesome, and the vocals, well say no more, Remember the first time I heard Thelma at Wigan,I was a bit confused to say the least, but it's ok really,And yes I danced to it,On the second play about 45 minutes later,Maybe longer but my grey matter aint what it used to be, Somebody mentioned The Jones Girls "Nights Over Egypt",I still play this in the car now a cool track Grant
