Would have thought its the going rate...2900 made me almost spill my soda drink last night. Really amazed me.. and almost tempted me to sell mine. Freddy Butler though indeed very cheap IMHO. Fabulous and really rare record, in fact the third rarest on Wheelsville.

Now this is really mediocre. What makes people shell out this kinda money for it I dont know....and wont like to know LOL. Jax Authority thopugh...now thats a complete different story, fabulous record, fresh tune and all that. Like it.

no comparison to how the "scene" was twelve years ago IMO. however, from a German - Berlin in particular - point of view it became completely inflationary.

makes u wonder somehow, 1. if a artist gets some air time on television surely she must have had some kinda name already (all the other artists were established and widely known acts of the time) plus 2. the company will have had already made sure that there will be enough copies at distributors and shops to meet demand created by the telly appearance. it sure wasnt released in any of the so often quoted 250, 500 copies only runs... I am sure there either has been huge quantity of this record been dumped ages ago already or there is still quantity of this tune lurking somewhere waiting to be found..

The Salvadors where originally from St.Louis and did local backing at the Riviera nightclub there for Soul acts when they were in town, E. Rodney Jones was a local radio legend there before he went on to bigger things in 1965 at WVON in Chicago, after he had brought the Salvadors over to record their first record in Chicago (Nike) he brought them to Jo Armstead to record again this time SBMB on Wise World. I think the second press was done (local) for local sales in their homebase St.Louis, at least the rarer press is often talked about as the "St. Louis press". Props to Boba for his great radio interview with one remaining member of the Salvadors back in the day. RIP.

just in from a night out, checked on fb, couldnt believe it and am now so sad to find out this tragic is real.. lost for words really. dont remember which year bob joined soul source but since he had joined this place really became more informative and worthwhile for sure. as mike so rightly said - bob was a major part of this site. always had the the deepest respect for his knowledge, his help on infos and vinyl and liked his individual style big style. he sure wont be forgotten ever. whereever u are bob, be sure to turn up the volume loud - I know you will. Its definitely a male lead. The guy I had it off thought it was the serenaders. I was/ am not sure..in fact they dont sound like them at all. thast why I just sold it as unknown group.
