Winfield Parker - I Wanna Be With You
Chris One of the 2 was mine and at £20 it's the right price - appreciated. The Timothy Wilson is another record I paid £20 for and again that's a fair price. Both records are nice, not fantastic but nice, but I'm afraid 'ignorance' is always a factor on the bay and credit to any straight up seller, like Seb, who pulls a few quid more in. Regards..

Ebay Madness...kings Go Forth
The seller is a well respected contributor on this forum and I'm sure we all genuinely wish him the best of success. He is a seller with integrity and knowledge who often offers great items for sale. His sales will rightly carry some premium. The point being made, I believe, is we have recently seen some very big prices for items that seem stratospheric even with them being 'in-demand'. The hope would be that people looked and listened a little more widely for their tunes to exploit the treasure there is out there. With Respect..

Ebay Madness...kings Go Forth
Saw this and nearly choked on me sausage! It's like the Darrow Fletcher "My Young Misery" a couple of weeks ago.. The joke is there are so many great records you can pick up cheap but the mutton just keep following the rest of the herd Don't get me wrong, I like the stuff Kings Go Forth are doing but FFS.. I bet Andy wishes he'd kept a few back for the lotusland store! Best..

Towanda Barnes
This is an image off the net which shows the same image as posted by Fingers. Not that glam so it's probably just your memory putting on those rose tinted filters.. The Ohio Players album has a bit more of a 'glamorous style' Best.

Towanda Barnes
Fingers, Thanks for posting the cover as it does provide some interesting background. As for the Jo-Mar copy, I'm sure I've have had it since the late eighties. I'm not sure as to whether it's always been the same 'originator' but my guess is that it is. The copies that appear recently seem always to originate from the Las Vegas source. I suspect that this has been a steady source of naughty income for some time for this individual. Best..

Towanda Barnes
Previously hidden for me - last nite out being 1988 Best..

Towanda Barnes
My point was that it was never released under "Towanda Barnes" but, as you say it is available on the Ohio Players LP "Greatest Hits" on Trip records. As Towanda Barnes she released "If I'm Guilty" on Groovy and "You Don't Mean It" on A&M - the other Ohio Players track - and released one recording under her real name of Gloria Barnes - the very good LP "Uptown" in 1973. I believe the 'Jo Mar' boot is taken from the Ohio Players LP and it revealed this previously quite well hidden gem. Best

Towanda Barnes
This was a previously unreleased track that was pressed up in the early eighties if I remember correctly. It's a boot in the sense that I doubt whether it was officially licensed but is not available on any other format. Towanda Barnes is a bit of an enigma but did have some realtion to the Ohio Players (note her version of 'You Don't Mean It') The sound quality is not the best but my copy plays well enough. Best...

Sunday - Ain't Got No Problems
The two Alteen releases are priced slightly higher in JM's bible but I'm with you Dave; based simply on observation of sales the Chess release seems the rarer. However, my Alteen copy is much more pretty and is one of those that managed to avoid the abuse to remain shiny minty yum yum Best..

Sunday - Ain't Got No Problems
Just been watching Boba's video post of the Voices singing along to their backing harmonies to Sunday "Ain't Got No Problems" Got me wondering, I've seen quite a few Alteen releases for sale lately as compared to the Chess release. Does anybody have any firm info on which is the more rare? Thanks..

Just The One
Hi Kev When you get this off Tony give the flip a try, "Funny Changes" well worth a listen. I think the "Gone" side uses the same backing as Cindy & The Playmates "Don't Stop This Train" Anyroad, good record. Best..

The Whispers - Needle In A Haystack
Exactly my take. The Dore version is 'the' version. Usual statement applies, "beware of cheap imitations" Thanks..

Turnarounds - Can't Take No More - Minit
Now Sorted. Thanks..

The Whispers - Needle In A Haystack
Hi, The Whispers - Needle In A Haystack is an example of a very similar cut that can be bought for a nominal sum (Soul Clock) as compared to the alternate take (Dore). In my opinion, the Dore version deserves the premium even though it is a marginally different arrangement/production. What's your take? What other examples of an original and superior arrangement/production warrant their cash premium. Regards..

Insuring Your Vinyl
Hi Sarah Sorry to hear you've been visited by scum fuc*s The best way to insure your music collection is to catalog it (catraxx is the database i use) including pics/scans of your items and base the 'value' on one of the two guides . For added protection you can request that a recognised expert validate your appraisal. This usually comes at a cost and is similar to the way you would use a jeweller to provide a written valuation for your precious items. Best, Greg.
