6x6
Hmm...known instrumental plus weak vocal plus no known sound files circulating - is there any further documentary evidence that it's genuine '60s Motown? After the Quadrumvirate of Van'Dhal (Soul Brothers from Outer Space) incident, one can't help asking oneself, can one....

Motown 'b' Sides
Nope - on my copy "Honey Chile" is marked as TMG 636 A, "Show Me The Way" (a popular Clowne spin by the way) as TMG 636 B.

Carstairs 12" On Inferno
Almost certainly an after the fact extended remix, 'twas a 1973 recording originally and 12" singles weren't invented as such until 1975. Interestingly enough, Inferno also released a 12" extended version of Gloria Jones "Tainted Love"

4 Vandalls
There are scans of some of Ian's sounds on Pete French's modern sales page - I notice a couple of them (1st Amendment and Viv Courtland) have hit the fifty quid mark now.

Temptones Cover Up Complete Version
Many would say that about me, but I kinda like this track

Launch Of New Monthly Northern Soul Sales List
£23.99/month? I should hope that's some high speed/high end broadband you're getting then, which is going to give you quite a lot more than email

To Hell In A Handcart
And what may I ask is wrong with that?

J.j. Barnes - Talk Of The Grapevine
Not rare, in fact it's a fairly recent recording which is probably why it doesn't get many spins (think it was a Levine production) - Manship has it for a fiver.

Levine In "comeback" Gig In Edinburgh
For what it's worth, "Evil Annie" also fits And disclaimer, I'm in a good'n'giddy mood because a) I've been at the VRB B for bravo) an investment of mine has matured so this is one of the last few posts on my current computer - I've just ordered an iMac G5 Tiger edition and will have change to spare c) I'm looking forward to Clowne Northern Soul tomorrow night - my birthday too Oh and, I'm an Independent reader myself so am not too familiar with the Mirror

Karaoke Soul
Well I actually do sing a few tunes at the karaoke nights at my local drinking emporia, including "My Girl", "Aint Too Proud To Beg" and "Long After Tonight Is All Over" - I have a recording of my rendition of My Girl somewhere, will throw it up on my webspace if/when I can find it

Bll Harris-am I Hot(am I Cold)
For what it's worth, the RCA brand still exists now - Christina Aguilera "Stripped" has an RCA logo on the CD.
-
Curtis Move On Up
Interestingly enough, it was actually booted around 1980 on what was supposed to be a Curtom white demo - it just had the words CURTOM RECORDS at the top, not the logo. I used to have one ages ago, think I gave it away - I assume it was a boot for 2 reasons: 1) sound was awful and 2) the market stall I got it from had loads for £1.25 each

Paint Your Self In A Corner
Interesting, I'm sure my US demo of "Paint..." is a stereo/mono, maybe the disc was repromoted with the sides filpped (as is thought to have happened with Bobby Sheen)?

Technical Help - Can Someone Fix My Burner
If it will still burn data, maybe the timehonoured solution of backup followed by flatten'n'rebuild* is in order? *format the HD and reinstall OS+needed apps

The Emperor's New Clothes - Rare, But
For what it's worth, that particular one always sounds to me like a knock off of "Payback's A Drag"...by the way, how much would one expect to pay for a copy of that one these days? "...You don't know how its....gonna come..."

Charletta
There was an instrumental version as well - in fact just the bass/rhythm track without any brass or anything, c/u as Al Kent - and it did sound a lot like "You Gotta Pay The Price" as one can probably imagine.
