Group Records / Brooklyn-born
They did this to me as well. So I sent a comment via their 'email us' link, got no response, then I sent another, angrier email, no response, finally as a last gesture I told them to f*ck off and shove their company up their collective arses, a few hours later I got a phone call from a representive who explained exactly why they couldn't refund my money - and yes, it's because the user was no longer registered with ebay. So much for safe secure transactions then.

New Podcast...soul Of Jamaica
Sorry not quite all about the soul but I did a new podcast before I went away but had loads of problems getting it up onto the site so I gave up, anyway now I've managed it, this is a ska/reggae/rocksteady podcast and I'm being honest here when I say if it's not the best one I've done, it was certainly the most enjoyable. Link is below and you have to click the triangle to get it to play (or of course you can download it for later), there's a full track list on the actual page, it's the very first one at the top of the page https://www.raresoul.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=11

Paul Weller's Tribute To Northern
The Jam put out a cd called Extras which rounded up all their unissued tracks, they did a version of Solid Bond In Your Heart, obviously way before the Style Council version, and it's out and out northern, try and find it, the intro especially is brilliant

Offers Anyone - Not My Usual Style But
I can't remember asking for offers on a record for ages but I'm completely stumped on what to ask for this one: J.B. TROY - LIVE ON - MUSICOR DEMO Now the condition I would grade visually as VG-. One of those records that hasn't seen a sleeve for ages. It plays with light background crackle near the start, once it gets going it plays SUPERBLY. The label is one of those with a dip towards the middle so the outer part is grubby while the inner part is clean. No big clicks, no jumps or skips. So anyway I know this is rare, I've never had one before, and the 'price guide' says 300 quid. Anyone interested in making an offer above 100 for it, if so I'll see what comes in and then sell to the best offer later on. I can supply label scan and sound clip if necessary. (enclosed) jbtroy.mp3 I also have a Melvin Davis - I Must Love You - Groovesville. Same sort of visual condition but not as strong a player - vg throughout. Looking at 85 quid on that. Fine for djing but not recommended for a home hi-fi experience as it is crackly. Finally I have a Magictones - How Can I Forget You - Wheelsville. To all intents and purposes this is mint minus and I could sell it to you as that and you probably would be happy but I know that there's a minute crack where the run off meets the label, doesn't affect play, can barely be seen, but it's there! Otherwise, the best copy of this I've ever seen. 100 quid.

I'm not down on nothing, it's not my fault if people are stupid is it? I bought my latest (orange) one for £20 so by your thinking, I'm £100 up.

Monster Motown Instrumentals & Acapellas
Yeah they did, but that was when the team ran out, unfortunately it was banned a few years ago and it hasn't been heard since. This is the mentality of the west midlands police - they say it could incite violence just on the chorus where it goes (clap-clap-clap-clap-THE WOLVES) the fns were singing "f*ck off west brom - The Wolves" so they banned it...except it's still allowed at west brom.

Mel Britt
Can't understand what you don't like about it, honestly. You haven't actually said yet.

Monster Motown Instrumentals & Acapellas
Don't think anything could beat the vocal version, one of my all time favourites and every time I hear it it takes me back to the 60's, my Dad taking me down the Wolves matches, they always used to play this before the match...thats where I first heard loads of Motown records 1967-69
