  2. Wouldn't let it in my house. I meant that Elipses really though, Ian Clark asked me about it and I sent him the link and he thought it was actually a joke record! It is, I said...
  3. God you like some sh*t records

Lucy if you can find a picture anywhere on the net of the cartridge I might be able to help, if it's the same as the ones I've got you can have it
  5. Fantastic - thanks a lot Mike...I don't think it's Youngblood Smith myself, but what a find.
  6. The track can be heard as backing music on this clip
  7. Er, no John, what's that got to do with Youngblood Smith - You Can Split, or does it begin to sound like it after 12 pints and a 300 foot bungie jump from the roof of the kings hall
  8. You should have bid on the one you found on Ebay then, it only went for £11. Could have saved yourself £39 or even £69 depending who you buy from.
  9. Can anyone tell me the track that's got the same backing as Youngblood Smith - You Can Split? And can anyone supply a recording of it?
  10. THE ARTISTRY OF BRENDA HOLLOWAY - TAMLA MOTOWN TML 11083. An absolutely stunning copy, vinyl is near mint and looks barely played if ever...sleeve is excellent with a couple of very minor laminating creases. Reverse sleeve is spotless. Contains: TOGETHER TIL THE END OF TIME EVERY LITTLE BIT HURTS YOU'VE MADE ME SO VERY HAPPY OPERATOR WHEN I'M GONE JUST LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE STARTING THE HURT ALL OVER AGAIN etc Looking for £125 for this one. US one seen today at £200 and this is twice as rare.

I was the seller of the two copies in June. One went for £110 and was never sent for, I relisted it and it went for £83. I lost £42 on it
  12. How much do you want for the Pistols?
  13. Here's a very near instrumental version for you using the original Ritchie Havens track - most of the vocals gone and violins bought to the front. Just for a laugh.
  14. What a bargain!!!
  15. I love record collecting stories like that one and the thing is - if that person hadn't sold it at his pavement sale or whatever it was, he could well have dumped it and the only known copy would have been destroyed forever. That's why it's worth over $100,00. What I found surprising is how many people could afford to bid on it!
  16. That recent Glastonbury movie features quite a long performance by Havens.
  17. OK mate. We'll agree to disagree.
  18. So if JM told you Out On The Floor was worth £75 would you take that as gospel? If I'd got 20 copies of a record I'd actually do my customers a good deal and lower the price, not up it. What I'm saying is - why are you right and us wrong?
  19. What I liked most about this is, apart from the fact it's near perefct to the original, is that Nico is looking good and singing great, most footage that exists of her, she's haggard and smacked out of it and she croaks rather than sings.
  20. That is so not true Phil. If you phone for a record off me you are more than likely to get it, it's when you email that you usually miss it. The person who got the Jimmy Conwell today was amazed that it was still here - that's because he rang and I hadn't been able to check any emails. Consequently there were 5 other people who missed it due to emailing. I can't be on the pc every second of the day. Second point which you obviously I missed, I sold a Mr Big Shot for 20 or 25 when me and Mick Smith bought that collection in the summer. I haven't got one now but if I had, like I said, it would have been £25 but now due to the obviously massive demand for this record, it will be £30.
  21. How dare you, it's worth at least £50
  22. reed, cale and Nico live in France, early 70's doing a fantastic acoustic version of Femme Fatale

Just going to put a Velvet Underground link in media by coincidence...some absolutely incredible footage from France
  24. Okay I'm going to opt out of this discussion now before I say something I regret.
  25. When did this go from being £25 to £50, overnight? And bear in mind it's not just me asking the question, nobody else apart from Adam seems to think it's worth that price.
