  8. Fact: there was a group not so long ago named Ken Dodd's Dad's Dog's Dead. Me?? I don't care, say what you like, nothing to do with me whatsoever!
  9. Thanks mate, I had done that after a fashion but kept unplugging the usb lead and it kept resetting itself, but you're right, it does work the way that you explained above
  10. It's a film clip of footage from the 100 Club - you not getting a player icon come up?
  11. Pete S replied to a post in a topic in Record Sales
It's a fair point. Bobbettes is quite hard on an issue.
  12. Excuse me but some of us enjoy the Stoke allnighters! 50UL4UL Pete, Darlington
  13. Two part post here, the first part is for Soulfulsaint concerning the mp3's and lame codec thing. If you download that lame codec then open it and drag the .dll file into a folder on your desktop, then when you've recorded a track, go to FILE, then, EXPORT AS MP3 and it gives you a message saying that you have to install the lame codec thingy, it puts a box up so you can tell it where the .dll file is, so just direct it to the folder on your desktop where you dragged the file, and bobs yer uncle. It works, and it works really well, I'll put my first ever recording up so you (or anyone) can hear the quality though I have reduced it in size massively from the original. RIGHT SO FAR SO GOOD, NOW THE BAD NEWS I can play records into the computer but can't hear them unless I am recording. This isn't really a problem. Once recorded, they play back through audacity, sound great. This is the problem: I have no sound from windows media player or any other players, I can't hear music from any cd I put in the drive. UNLESS. I remove the USB cable that connects the deck to the pc. Can anyone tell me why this or what I can do about it? cheers
  14. Soulful singer - but it doesn't literally mean he sings soul songs. I'll put an mp3 up see if you can hear what I mean. Anyway it's more for the fact it's a very rare clip (the video I mean) p.s. the attached mp3 is not one of my favourite tracks but it was the first I found
  15. Hold up, so every time I put a new clip up, I post a link in All About The Soul, which kind of defeats the object of moving it out of that section in the first place.
  16. I could if I knew how to link to an entire separate section...
  17. Why do so many have big eyes and chew a lot?
  18. Shame, cos I've got 4 or 5 good ones for this morning, well I guess people will figure it out
  19. I will like it, no worries!
  20. Did I bollocks, I only got mine cos there was a discussion about it on here last month and I posted it up the second they emailed me to say they were in stock. Ner-ner.
  21. It would have helped if you'd told me about it before I spent over £100 on a f*cking USB turntable
  22. I've noticed we have a new subsection for the video clips but I hadn't seen an announcement about it (excuse me if there was one) so do I have to post them in media now and not all about the soul?
  23. Anyone wanting this can PM me for details
  24. When I was doing copies of this, for the cover I used a letter from the director explaining why it wasn't released on video - it's mainly because of the fees for licensing the music. If I've still got it I'll post it up. COAST TO COAST Every year we receive hundreds of request for videos of this film starring LENNY HENRY, JOHN SHEA, GEORGE BAKER, and PETE POSTLETHWAITE etc. When we produced it in 1986 we were unable to clear any of the rights for any form of video distribution - actors, writers, musicians, music content, director, writer and crew. It was thought by the different financing elements that it was only a television film and as it would then have cost well over £200,000 to clear it for video release worldwide not to be worth the investment. Due to numerous demands to purchase the video and lately DVD we have tried, on several occasion, to clear these rights retrospectively. This has not happened. Apart from the fact that the costs would now be far greater than those quoted in 1986, many of those concerned have said that they will not give their permission for such a release. These permissions are needed to move forward. Therefore, it is with great regret that we are unable to provide any of you with a film that so many of you fondly remember nearly 20 years after it was first screened.
