Someone needs to have a word with that guy. Some poor schmuck has bid $70 on Twans
  3. Good thread this got me digging a few old cd's out - I've got one with a tremendous unissued Motown track on called I think, Til The End Of Time and it begins like no other Northern record I've heard, it's like a freight trains coming, that intro is one of the best 20 nseconds of music I've ever heard...then unfortunately it goes into a bit of a midtempo plodder, but worth hearing just for the start
  4. "Rose Valentine" instrumental
  5. That is a fake mate, it's just had the pitch changed, I know this for a fact because I recreated it myself and I'm pretty sure I posted it up here about 2 months ago. Just need a program called "the amazing slow downer" and you can speed up the vocal while the backing track stays the original speed.
  6. You Ain't Got A Chance - awesome - wonder who it is?
  7. I've put it on a few cd's with names on it mate, bet it turns out to be one of those..I think it's Wanda Andrews or sommat like that
  8. Here's another fantastic unissued track, originally discovered by Kev Roberts
  9. What about this, Darlene Love, found it on a compilation in the 80's, turned up on a few more lp's and cd's later but first time I heard this it blew me away, still does, talk about Wall Of Sound!
  10. Anybody know what or who this one is?? Great break in the middle by the way.
  11. I'm positive it's not the same. Obviously this is running much slower but I swear it's different.
  12. No it's a different take mate, different vocal and the endings different. I'll dig it out and post it up in a minute
  13. Rose Valentine mate, and yes, that is absolutely fantastic, not the one kent put out but the original one Searling used to play...the Kent one is great but just not quite as good. And what about Who Are You Trying To Fool - fantastic - and the instrumental version, just as good.
  14. I've got this but it's horrible, no wonder it was unreleased
  15. After listening to it, this is the first one I heard and the one I prefer to the other one!
  16. Straight up, I didn't think any of those RCA things were as good as a lot of people reckoned - they were good alright, but too many to take in at one time - none are a match for I'll Always Need You or Change Your Ways n.b. except You Only Live Twice, that was F*cking phenomenal
  17. OK I'm getting a bit confused now - enclosed is a sample of the version I had years ago which I thought didn't have the funny intro - but it does - but it's n ot the same as the one I don't like...and I've got it listed as THE VOLCANOS

  19. Dunno, kind of wah-wah synth noise sounds like it's been added on years later

Really??? No, can't be, can it?
  21. Never liked that. Like the version without the kind of synthy sounds (organ?) on but the other one leaves me cold.
  22. Other side of this is just as good eh? I'm Gonna Paint A Picture...
  23. No, I went to pull out my stash of interesting records and realised I'd sold most of them a few months back!
  24. I've got a David Bowie New Zealand fan club only Pin Ups promo 45 with fold out sleeve...a David Bowie Spanish Can't Help Thinking About Me with picture sleeve...fantastic Alan Freed Rock'n'Roll Band "Right now right now" on Vogue demo...and the Vogue Coral LP...actually I've got bugger all left so ignore this
  25. This is a tough choice because there have been some awesome previously unissued gems played over the last 30 years or so, I was thinking about "Suspicion", "Some day the sun will shine" and second best of all "The magic touch"...but the best of the lot has to be one of the first wave of unissued things Popcorn Wylie gave to John Anderson: BETTY BOO - SAY IT ISN'T SO what a f*cking record, never fully appreciated at the time and released to early. An absolute gem.
