Most likely Martyn. MB had sold it because it wasn't in his collection that I bought from him. I asked where it was, sadly I can't remember who he said he sold it to. That's how the information regarding the acetate came out, in that conversation.

Mick Bolan RIP discovered it when he was at Past & Present Records in Watford. He told me he had an acetate cut of it & that was what got played at Wigan. I have that acetate.

I genuinely hadn't spotted that. I've never heard the other track they recorded, the intended flip side, "Little Baby". They dropped it last minute in favour of the instrumental. Probably worked out best for the Northern Soul world. They were billed as "Little Willie & the Sparkles", with 17 year old Billy Smith doing the vocal.

I wonder what an original is worth now? Not seen one for sale in quite a while?

I think someone got a bit of a bargain with that Priscilla Page. i.m.h.o of course. I've got both versions but the RM mix works best over a loud system. Took me ages to track an RM down.
