There was an allnighter at "chez moi" last night, the bar closed at 4.30am and the decks went off at 5am and although there was room for one or two more, attendance was good Well it does have a wooden floor, would always be a packer and the bar is free, music is a bit dodgey toward the end of the night though . We have been spoiled in the Beds and Herts area for along time, can I just add that 2 of the venues have finished, Bedford Ath and Luton TOTS, have not ended becuse of lack of numbers but because of management changes at the venue and to date no suitable alternative venues have been found. Maybe it is time to throw it all in the air and see what happens, I wish all the new venues opening up in our all the best luck in the world and will be supporting where I can, some will survive and some wont but at least we will still have a strong scene in this area. QoFxx
  8. My post has been edited accordintly..................its still bloody theft though QoFxx

  10. I can't even believe you are saying this Bicks, you are really showing yourself to be very niave, about the whole essence of the soul scene. If you read this forum you should know know what the general feeling is about this type of theft.............and yes, if he hasn't got the rights to the records it is theft. So that means I suppose, you are knowingly in receipt of stolen property Over to Ady then QoFxx
  11. I had a little time on my hands today so went through every one and reported them all individually so that should flood ebays in box Suggest if everyone does similar even if it is only on one or two of them it may alert evil bay that there may be something amiss QoFxx
  12. Joan, my records are only worth about 2K but for replacement value I added an extra 1K and was able to do this on household insurance and cover up to 2K outside the house as long as I wasn't being paid for taking them out and as all my sets I do free cos no one would pay to hear me no probs. I would have to claim for each record individually so have now got to catalogue them and keep a note of what I take out each time, which isn't difficult as I have them all on a simple database and just run a report each time I take them out. I would think people like yoursself with larger collections and more expensive records would need to sort out some kind of specialist insurance. QoFxx
  13. Was really gutted to hear what had happened and I know how I would feel if my records went even though they are only worth about a tenth of this lot..............even got round to getting insurance on them today . Glad to hear that they have been found and hope they are ok. QoFxx

Just heard this for the first time and think he has done an amazing job with it, all power him for trying something so iconic and difficult to cover. QoFxx
  22. Mine is a white musicor label and is of decent quality but all other references I have found to the white label are MU-1106R mine does not have the R this is what got me thinking it may be a boot. QoFxx
  23. We all have a box of records that are of dubious origin, or re-issues of re-issues of re-issues, or so pants only we would want to listen to them. We only get these out under the cover of darkness, with the curtains drawn, lookouts posted at the end of the street in case the soul police have the detector vans out. I have bought quite a lot of records recently and over the last couple of days I have been sorting out all my records and generally having a tidy up when I broke open the lock of the forbidden box and delved in. I came across a copy of Marie Knight, Thats No Way To Treat A Girl. This puzzled me as to why it was in the forbidden box as I think it is a great record and the only explanation is that at some drunken moment I put it in the wrong box or someone at some point has told me mine is a boot. I can't remember who I bought it off as this would probably ascertain its authenticity. So can one of you anoraks please let me have some info as to how I can tell. This has been puzzling me all night and I woke up pondering over the mystery. The weird thing is, for the life of me I can't find it this morning........spooky . Thanks QoFxx
