I notice it is on DVD so I can only conclude a REISSUE No one is coming forward on the CR&P venues, and why would they? And no one else is prepared to name them. So maybe it'll just end up being a list of OV venues with the caveats. Cheers

I can't get me head around some of this either Gav - but maybe from the other end of the telescope. V busy at work as you'd expect right now, but will try and summarise when I get a chance.

A number of us as punters on here do care, but another number of people think that the punters don't care. I find that second view quite patronising of the punters.

Russ - he the one that plays boots? He doesn't have any original records in his box. Does that make Eyes Down the first declared CR&P venue?

Of course you can Gav. It's about bootlegs and playing quality....not about playing an album track of somehing that was on 45 which I don't bthink has ever been contentious.

I often play UK originals especially if I am doing a club night or oldies night. Love'em.

I just don't get these double standards Paul. For years you've been on the anti bootlegging bandwagon tut tutting at the northern scene from afar for making illegal copies of records, now it's ok if someone wants to buy them and it's all down to market forces and hey what the hell. I am sorry but I don't buy it - get your backbone back in mate.

I'll tell you why I started this Roger you old cynic. A few of us were looking at northern venues to go to the other week and we were going through them - shall we go here, shall we go there. All of them were quite a way away (1-2 hours) , we didn't know some of the clubs or many of the DJS and we couldn't make up our mind where to go. Some of us like going to smaller more intimate clubs where we are not recognised The discussion turned to what's the music policy? Wigan Oldies / Newies / 70s / new / Mix / ATB etc. and then would we be hearing old Wigan bootlegs played for the umpteenth time. None of us fancied that. We decided we couldn't decide where to go and went nowhere instead. Whilst that saved £50 in petrol it got me thinking - hmmm would be nice to know where we could hear the stuff we wanted to hear. Nothing worse than getting home at 3 am and having had a miserable night. I thought OV versus Boots was a good start. Could equally have started with "what constitutes an ATB night" or "What is the make up of your night" - maybe that'll be the next thread. Anyway there's your answer.
