Jackie Wilson Was Terrible
Well he wasn't that bad really, we went to see him @ Wigan Casino 14th June 1975, there was a crowd standing next to us shouting out all the time " What About Blue Skies" & you have guessed it he didn't sing it. @ the end of his show, People rushed up on the stage, Straight past Jackie Wilson up to the Sax player as he stole the show, Other Shit performers @ Wigan was Billy Butler of Right Track fame after 15 min Everyone was sitting done on the floor slow hand clapping....Betty Wright was the Bollocks she tore the roof of the place....No doubt I will upset a few People with this but it is the TRUTH..... - Who Spin's The Best On The Dance Floor
There are some people who can Dance & Spin, Some who do nothing other than trying to perfect the perfect spin.... Pickle would spend the whole night Spining & manage 3 or 4 Perfect ones out of 10 Spins....Pete Wickam would dance allnight & suddenly amaze people with a perfect spin.....Gethro & Keb are 2 of the King's on the floor they can both do everthing & the only 2 I know who can spin in Both Directions.....Morris Nixon who runs Portabello Market in London & used to own the Motown Bar in Portabello Road, one week Sue & I where in there Good music being played as usual & Morris done the most perfect spin.....15 min later He done the same thing wobelled of course & knocked over a few of his Buisness Buddies...... CockneyMick W.O.F.T.A.M.... First met Mick Webb @ Shades of Green in Camberley, in about 1974-ish, The thing I remember most about first meeting him was his MK1 Cortina Estate- with a sunvisor that read W.O.F.T.A.M which I shall remember for as long as I live as Mick told me is was his banger racing team & stood for Waste Of F**cking Time & Money....& for a short while he was known as "Woftam" Mick. I don't know where the "COCKNEY" bit comes from because Mick comes from Windsor....I would like to know who first called him that ! I bet it was some Northener.... Keep @ It.... What Tomo has in his hand is a 1kg container full of "Flying Saucers"....Rumour has it that they stopped on the way to Leicester Oddfellows Allnighter to do a chemist, But the chemist that they chose to do had not been a chemist for quite some time.... It was now a sweet shop....Because they went in the back way they didn't know....As Tomo said "Once we were in I couldn't leave empty handed....That night @ Leicester everyone was happy, There were Sherbert Fountains, Drumsticks, Flying Saucers, Milk Gums....Everthing you could wish for in a Sweet shop....Tomo said He made more money selling all them sweets, than he would if he had done a Chemist.... ....Tomo who is no longer with us was a genuine character & made a lot of people laugh.... ....Jon Buck- young gavin page
