  1. Some of the comments written on sleeves in sales boxes are like mini novels but I cant help reading them even if I know the record. Have you bought a record you may have passed over on the strength of the sleeve sales pitch? Seen a record bigged up that you know is crap? The first few bars confirm this when played!! Or the tounge in cheek comments like an all time classic described as "Not bad" (I'm gone, boot, seen recently) Blake
  2. I remember Johnny Walker saying after he played it (Timebox) that it was the only UK 45 with a vibes solo. Is he right? Blake

  7. Great idea, never understood why we change djs every 18-20 records. give them 2 hour spots. Mick H did a great 2 hour session at Boomerang (Thorne) recently. and promoters would save too. Blake

  19. I use to go to a record shop in Chertsy called Mr Waxy, who was quite well known and I'm sure many others had good hits here, just going out with a few bits and remembered a title I'd been put on to, "Oh do you have James Walsh Gypsy band" 2 minutes later he returns with 2 UK copies, one demo (£2.50) and one issue (£1.50). Also went to a shop in Swanley in Kent and the owner went out for a while leaving a youth in charge, found a cheap album and went to pay for it and noticed a box of 45s on the counter which I looked through, Found a Alexander Patton UK red and white demo and a Bobby Sheen UK red and white demo, "how much are these" as they had no prices on, " I dont know how about £1 each". Thank you very much. I think the owner had been pricing up the stuff in the box, I sprinted back to the station and got out of there with visions of the youth getting merry hell on the owners return. Saturday afternoon junking...happy days Blake
  20. Thanks Steve
  21. I have the chance to buy about 12 soul patches and as its something I havent had an intrest in since all mine got pinched at Cleethorpes pier (attatched to an Adidas bag) 30 years ago. Is there any intrest or market for patches? I have the feeling someone will turn up on the Antiques Roadshow one day with some to be told they are worth £££s and wish I'd bought them. What does the panel think? Think they are mainly Morecambe and Clifton Halls Blake H
