  1. Third Window Films uses Dean Barlow's "Third window from the right" chorus as there theme tune.
  2. When John Weston dropped the needle on The Spindles "Ten shades of Blue" last Friday at Sue's memorial do & It sounded fantastic through Baz's massive sound system, thankfully I was standing chatting at the back of the hall and got the full effect, and so did the busy dancefloor. One for tonight.
  3. If you fancy some Johnny James on a big sound system then it has to be Culcheth this Saturday night 4th June Butch's old Terrible Tom c/u. You'll need your best dancing shoes on for this one.

  6. The brilliant new Kim Tibbs 7" single was due to be released in time for the last Culcheth modern room, thankfully it's now available. A modern soul masterpiece and dancefloor destroyer if that's possible. Listen here.

  11. I was just thinking back to a conversation I was having at the Blackpool Mecca one Saturday night in the 70's, and Soul Sam's latest sound was brought into the conversation, I was asked if I'd heard Lada Edmund Jnr "The Larue", no was my answer, you need to hear it he said. Well as it happened there was an all dayer at Whitchurch Civic the next day and guess who was on. so a car full of us went down there. He played it and I certainly wasn't disappointed, in fact I still love it to this day. Okay I don't expect him to still have it let alone want to play it. (He's certainly not short of Sam first plays) but I just thought I'd tell the story. I'll give it a spin myself if that's ok.
  12. Mick, Don't be too hard on yourself, it's happened to all of us, maybe not Baz & Robbo but everybody else. lol
  13. Baz I'm still looking for one of these, as you know I always preferred this side

  17. When Contempo Raries decided to release Deon Jackson's "Love makes the world go round" bw "I can't go on", who'd have thought that a different mix would be released. not just different but better than the original, complete with female backing singers and wonderful tinkly bits. Thanks to Ste Plumb for putting me on to this many years ago.

  22. I'll bet the thought of me singing Little Richard over it puts him off ever playing it again. If you want to sell it mate let me know lol
  23. I've only just realised, I can sing, sort of Little Richards "A little bit of something" to it. lol
  24. Mick correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember many years ago at Bury, when it was a Friday soul night, you played the J.J. Jackson cover up when it was still newly discovered and still a cover up and not letting on who it really was. I still love it and I'm pretty sure Simon will be spinning it this Saturday
  25. With all these previously unreleased records now finally finding a label to release them. Here's 1 that was highlighted on here that went down a storm with the dancers at Culcheth last month. The wonderful Kim Weston. Here's another previously unreleased track that came out in 2013 but hasn't really been given the exposure it deserves. I'm pretty sure that this would have been massive back in the day, so why not now? Listen here for something new that's old & brilliant from The VIBRATIONS what more do we need.
