  1. Thanks Chalky, My copy is the same as the last two on the page i.e. pictures No.6 and 7. So I take it it is a re-issue but not a boot?
  2. Cheers, the swirl of the Autumn logo is light brown, whilst the leaf in the centre is a reddish brown (as is the word 'autumn' next to the swirl), so I guess it is an original then
  3. Hello Folks, I recently purchased a box of Northern Soul 7" records off a retired DJ, all purporting to be original. I have my doubts over this one though? Can anybody help here? The copy I have has Autumn H 9 A, scratched into the 'A' side. It has Autumn H 9 B, scratched into the B side. Thanks in anticipation

  8. Cardiff City's infamous Soul Crew football hooligans were given the name by a guy called Nicky Parsons, in 1979. He was a year above me in school so new him quite well. He was one of the 'leaders' of one of the football hooligan gangs frequenting Cardiff City's infamous Grange End, at Ninian Park. Various areas and estates in Cardiff, the surrounding towns and the valleys, had their own gang leaders, and quite often violence would flare between the rival groups, only coming together if there was a large firm of away fans coming to Cardiff. The two best examples I can remember were Man Utd in Sept '74, Millwall, March '76, and Spurs, Jan '77. There were loads of others, but those two always stick in my memory. Parsons named his gang of Cardiff City hooligans on the back of the release of the Quadraphonic film, and the mod revival of '79-81. He was to my mind anyway, (others may tell you differently) one of the first people, if not the first, to try to unite all the different gangs, particularly when going away supporting The Bluebirds and looking for a fight with an opposing team's football hooligans, or if a large firm were coming down to South Wales attempting to 'take' the Grange End. Previous to that he had been a skinhead and a suede head, well at least in comprehensive school anyway. He became a bit of a punk in '77, but turned mod in '79. Gradually the name 'Soul Crew' became adopted by all Cardiff City football hooligans as time went on. Parsons though, never lasted that long though as he was rascist. He might have been charismatic and mouthy, but he had no real bottle to back his words up. One of the last places to be racist back in the 70s was Cardiff, particularly with it's multi racial Tiger Bay or Docks area. Quite a few of the lads on the Grange End were from that area. Eventually he was given the heave-ho, threatened with a beating and never returned to Ninian Park, at least from what I am aware anyway. So there you are, the story of how the 'Soul Crew' got it's name, and it's tenuous at best link to soul music.
  9. Thank you for your reply. This must, sadly, be boot then
