  2. The Only Way Is Up - New Vinyl Lp Release Outta Sight View full article
  3. Details of a new vinyl lp release from Outta Sight Records were found blowing around that may be of interest. Here's the blurb direct from their website... THE ONLY WAY IS UP! Move On Up To Northern Soul OSVLP025 WE ARE TRULY BLESSED! Pastor Smokie Norful, two-time Grammy award winner, leads proceedings with the FIRST EVER UK release of his Motown Modern Soul Anthem “I’ve Got What You Need”. DeeJay’s stand up and take note, if you subscribe to “OVO” (original vinyl only) this is your opportunity to pack the floor – Side 1, Track 1 – it couldn’t be simpler! You really don’t need any other reason to buy this album, but, how about our title track, the original version of “The Only Way Is Up” by the late great Otis Clay – Side 2, Track 1 – another guaranteed floorfiller. It is of course familiar to everyone for the chart-topping 1988 cover-version by Yazz and the Plastic Popualtion. Another sure fire winner is the Cornelius Brothers’ Gold Disc “Too Late Turn Back Now” which caught the imagination of the rare soul scene in the Nineties and remains a firm dance floor favourite today. We must also be grateful for the first ever independent license of Jerry Butler’s awesome “Stop Steppin‘ On My Dreams” which first came to light on his 1972 ‘Spice Of Life’ album. And we haven’t even mentioned Jesse James, Jackey Beavers, Alice Clark, Gloria Scott and the original and best version of the ‘Cleopatra Jones’ song “It Hurts So Good” by Katie Love. “The Only Way Is Up!” SIDE 1 Smokie Norful - I've Got What You Need Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose - Too Late To Turn Back Now The Independents - Lucky Fellow Jesse James - If You Want A Love Affair Jerry Butler - Stop Steppin' On My Dreams Wendell Watts - You Girl Katie Love and The Four Shades Of Black - It Hurts So Good SIDE 2 Otis Clay - The Only Way Is Up The Jackey Beavers Show - We're Not Too Young To Fall In Love The Fantastic Puzzles - Come Back (Part 1) Alice Clark - Don't You Care Gloria Scott - (A Case Of) Too Much Love Makin Chris Bartley - Tomorrow Keeps Shining On Me Sonny Turner and Sound Limited - Now That You're Gone More information including purchase options https://www.outtasight.co.uk/#!/THE-ONLY-WAY-IS-UP/p/180369774/category=40724010 Video Playlist - Enjoy our playlist of selected tracks from the album A clip from the 2018 Spike Lee movie 'BlackkKlansman' featuring the Cornelius Brothers "Too Late To Turn Back Now"

  7. various separate sales topics have been merged into one as per long running policy on individual sales posts here 👍 To keep the sales forum effective (lean and keen) for both sellers and buyers we do ask all members to follow the below guidelines The title should give to other members an indication of just what is on offer - no 'for sale'' or '45s for sale' generic type titles please Sales posts are limited to two per day per member (but please note point 5) No reposting of Sales items within 3 days, then 7 days for further reposts Sales posts selling via external links to other sales sites should be posted in the Ebay and Website Section No unnecessary splitting of Sales posts where one will do. Formatting and spacing can be used to draw attention to items of special interest. Members are asked to refrain from removing any details from the Sales posts after selling [or obtaining a want]. You can use the 'show 'SOLD' feature but please leave the post intact, as the information therein contributes to a ever evolving database that all can refer to when looking up current prices, availability etc. Plus ... if there are any later issues/disputes or such regarding the sales process it will be hard to deal with if there is no record of the sale details. We do have a long running sales policy of no illegal items (such as current bootlegs) This includes all media formats and types -see other help post for furter info

  24. A new release from Charly Records imprint 'Club Soul' NORTHERN SOUL ALL-NIGHTER - CHARLYL308 - With this the latest release in their current series of compilation lps the focus turns to 'All Nighters' with a 16 track vinyl lp release available now... Company Blurb Five Star Northern And Modern Soul “All Day, All Night, All Life Long” 16 Stunning tracks celebrating the spirit of the Northern Soul All-Nighter Includes many rarities, unreleased material and tracks never previously compiled “The All-Nighter has been synonymous with Northern Soul since it was christened at the turn of the seventies”. The All-Nighter has been an integral part of “the scene” since the phrase Northern Soul first came into popular use following the now legendary Blues & Soul article entitled “The Up-North Soul Groove” in June 1970 by journalist Dave Godin (issue no.36). During the heyday of the Northern Soul scene the All-Nighter was the preferred format for the travelling soul fan. It separated the scene’s top venues from the hundreds of regional soul nights in pubs, clubs and community halls across the land. The All-Nighter was the ultimate experience and the only place to hear the best, the rarest and the breaking sounds spun by the leading DJs. It was born in Manchester’s Twisted Wheel in September 1963, found its feet (its dancing feet) at the Golden Torch in Stoke-on-Trent from 1970-72, and truly came of age at the Wigan Casino Soul Club from ’73 onwards establishing itself as the premier National and even International event of the 70s. All 16 All-NIGHTER tracks on this newly curated compilation have been remastered from analogue tapes and original vinyl. It is pressed on audiophile heavyweight 180g vinyl housed in a printed inner sleeve complete with new liner notes. All-Dayer joins a growing catalogue of premium music on the Club Soul imprint. Tracks: Side One When I’m Ready - Mill Evans Go On And Laugh - The Sharpees Don’t Say - Tiny Tim Harris Here Comes The Hurt Again - Willie Harper Don’t Cry (Ain’t I Black Enough For You?) - Chico, Barbara & Junior The Yesterday Of Our Love - Jimmy Seals Stop Shovin’ Me Around - The Delicates Bricks, Broken Bottles and Sticks - Vinnie Zen & The Rogues Side Two My Sweet Baby - McKinley Mitchell Our Love (Will Never Falter) - Eddie Bo Show It - Betty Harris Fifty/Fifty - Harold Burrage Let’s Go Steady - Eldridge Holmes Who You Gonna Love? - The Accents Ain’t Got No Love (Instrumental) - Van McCoy & Friends Sad Souvenirs - The Ulti-Mations More info and purchase options via... https://www.clubsoul.club/NORTHERN-SOUL-ALL-NIGHTER-LP-p144244261
