  1. Thanks a million Mark - What is the album called and is it easy to get and either way what sort of money are we talking. Talking of tapes - I used to dangle my mike over the balcony at Wigan (anything to please the ladies) and record all those sounds on soundhog tapes, utter crap tapes with poor quality but better than nothing. Those early tunes during the warm up, as people came in, often became biggies once they had caught on. Took me years to find out what some of them were. From Nov 73 I had on tape ( although I didn't know it at the time) Teen Turbans - We need to be loved Baby Washington - I've got it bad Joe Matthews - Ain't nothing you can do
  2. Back in the early months of Wigan someone played an instrumental version of "You want it you got it" and I seem to remember it being credited to The New York Strings (probably a cover up). I don't think it was just the backing to the Detroit Emeralds, it was laden with strings etc. Perhaps it was a Simon Sousanne made up jobby. I've never seen hide nor hair of it on lists and often wonder if I just imagined it!! Can anyone help
  3. Thanks Stuart, that made me smile and it even got me thinking what other labels might have been owned by famous people. Huff Puff - Elton John Thelma - Louise Redknap Jamie - Louise Redknap Simco - Simon Cowell Kent - Peter Cook & Dudley Moore
  4. Big fan of cheap but great sounds- some of my faves are Bobby Womack - Tried and convicted Charles Drain - Is this really love Charles Mintz - Running Back Homer Strickland - I'll get over you Bobby Cutchins - I did it again Dee & Joe - Who's it gonna be Barbara Mason - I ain't got nobody Dave Love is a real double header -" You painted me blue" on the other side is well worth a spin
  5. My first ever posting on soul source and was looking through my box and gave a spin to Danny Moore - Somebody New on Allrite, This is the only track I have on this ZTSC stamped label - can anyone tell me a bit more about the label and any other stuff released.
