  1. Pretty sure I've lost mine, which is NOT like me. :o( Where do you live Arnie?
  2. Yep!!! Me and Frank Jackson. Mel too I think?
  3. Strange how a label can start out releasing Soul records then after just a few releases continue releasing C&W only? Wonder what happened there? Could it be somebody bought / took over an already established label then just released C&W from there on in?
  4. Thanks Chris. Nice link.
  5. True. But I didn't say it WAS Soul. I asked what it was worth / value to label collectors.
  6. Where / how does this fit into the world of record label collectors? And what kind of value would it have?
  7. You're right. Thanks Benji.
  8. This is a German release for those interested in label scans. Picked this up in MINT condition some months ago. I think it looks just wonderful. Perhaps even better than the UK RCA release, if it had ever been issued here, which it wasn't, sadly. Anyhow, my US import copy is now up for sale. Best offer secures. Absolutely Mint-.
  9. That's ONE story I suppose. I've heard others. Carmen, hope you're well if reading this.
  10. Was that a UK TMG Demo that went for £1058? Oh . . . my. . . . God!!!
  11. Nice one . . . . . . now where's my anorak? So, perhaps the label simply changed names around the time of the Classmen's release? Some came out during the transition on the old name, Classic, and others on Pearce. I always thought that Classic was the 'local' label, with Pearce being more of a 'National' label who released it under licence. Hmmm?
  12. So what gives with the record numbering system being all over the place?
  13. What's the JW2 at the bottom of the label?
  14. Should have KNOWN to come to you FIRST!!! Thanks mate.
  15. Do you have listings for each of them? Trying to track down a 'Johnny Wonderful' release.
  16. Anybody out there that can help?
  17. Am after an issue myself, so if anybody got one for sale, please chirp up. Thanks.
  18. Was wondering when you were going to chirp up. I've got a MINT Demo for sale as well.
  19. You've got a reply, I've just given you one. Mind you, it took me 2.1/2 years to see the question.
  20. I don't know this for sure but was told that the one on Classic was considered the rarer.
  21. I wasn't suggesting that Stafford didn't break the record but it WAS known amongst English label collectors earlier than Stafford, that's all. Not really sure if it got plays before Stafford, perhaps because it was so little known and so rare even then. Knowing about a record back then and being able to obtain one in order to play it at venues were two different things. The English collectors would have been keen to snap up any copies available at the time and certainly not all English collectors were DJs back then, unlike now.
  22. Well, it IS very rare. This is only the second copy I've seen since about the mid seventies. I did HEAR of another one but that was many moons ago too.
  23. How much can you offer for an issue in good nick? That's a UK CBS issue. Not sure if it gor an overseas release?
  24. Hang on to that Polydor copy mate, looks better on a UK label, never mind the better quality vinyl too!!!
  25. Looks like a two way macho fight to me, unless I too am missing something. No, hang on, I've been missing something (marbles) for years.
